Pohang conveyor sushi with giant futomaki: Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap

A Mundeok conveyor-belt sushi spot found on a Pohang trip

I came to eat sushi at the newly opened, piping-hot new conveyor-belt sushi favorite, “Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap,” while traveling in Pohang~!! If you’re visiting Pohang, or live here and love sushi, this is a Mundeok sushi spot you absolutely have to stop by~ :-)

It’s open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break time from 14:30 to 17:00. There’s no break time on weekends!! Park in the large lot right in front of the restaurant and come on in~!!

The staff gave us such a warm welcome at the entrance :-)

Counter seats, tables, and ordering from the rail

There are counter seats along the side, plus tables where you can sit comfortably and eat!! It seems perfect for dining out, and for a date too :-)

You can eat while watching the sushi being made here, so that must be fun to watch too~~ :-) There’s even a sofa and massage chair where people who have finished eating can wait comfortably for those still dining~~!!

Delicious sushi is whizzing around hard on the rail~~ If the sushi you want isn’t on the rail, order it on the tablet and they’ll bring it to your seat~!! If you want something freshly made, ordering on the tablet sounds like a great idea too, haha.

There’s even a takeout discount, so it seems like a good place to come for takeout too~!! If I lived in Pohang, I would have taken some home because my parents all love sushi, so that was such a shame ㅠㅠ

Aged-kimchi and beef-tartare salmon sushi with no fishiness

I had sushi topped with aged kimchi (mukeunji) and flying-fish roe, plus salmon sushi topped with beef tartare!! Such fresh sushi that completely melts in your mouth~ Freshness is the most important thing with sushi, right?? None of it tasted fishy, and it was all so delicious, haha.

Futomaki the size of an adult woman’s fist

I had futomaki too—can you see the size~~?? It was as big as an adult woman’s fist~!! It was packed with fillings and so delicious~!!

I also had salmon sushi topped with onion, and seared sushi with mozzarella cheese on beef!!

Tempura shrimp and pudding-like steamed egg

Not just sushi—I also had big shrimp tempura and reddish fish sushi as sides!! I didn’t choose from the menu; I just picked the sushi that looked delicious, so I don’t know the names, but every single one was delicious with no misses!!

The steamed egg was so soft that it felt like eating pudding!! I think little guests would love it, haha. Such soft steamed egg that slips right down your throat as soon as you put it in your mouth!!

Sweet eel and bacon-wrapped shrimp sushi

I also had eel sushi and sashimi sushi. The eel-sushi sauce was sweet, and the eel wasn’t fishy at all!! My friend said the white-fish sushi was delicious and ate two plates, hahaha.

I had classic salmon sushi and sushi with shrimp wrapped in bacon too!! The sauce was sweet, completely my kind of flavor!!! If you love both shrimp and bacon, I definitely recommend trying it, haha.

For dessert, I made sure to have melon too, haha. The melon was really sweet, so it was the best dessert!! They had melon and watermelon that day :-)

Two sushi lovers ate this much~~ Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap was so delicious that I just kept reaching for more!! If I travel to Pohang again, I’m 100% willing to visit again, haha.
