Paju pub with self-pour craft beer and night views: Long Time No See

After a long day, is there any surer kind of healing than quenching your thirst with a cold draft beer while looking out at a wide-open view? This time, I headed to Long Time No See Yadang Branch, a spot that has been getting buzz for its unusual craft beer system and fantastic views.

The moment I opened the door, the vast, open scale of the place was overwhelming. It is really spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows meant it did not feel stuffy at all.

With its polished, modern, and trendy interior, the space itself was so pretty.

We settled by the windows overlooking the scenery outside, and with the windows opened wide, it felt wonderfully liberating—as though we were sitting in a breezy outdoor pub. In the early evening, a soft sunset glow came in, and after 6:30 PM, a lovely night view unfolded before us. I could not help saying that the view was absolutely insane. Just lingering there with the scenery outside as our drinking snack put us in a good mood.

Long Time No See Yadang Branch's most distinctive signature is its smart self-pour tap system, where guests pour exactly as much as they want themselves.

Once seated, you are given a dedicated wristband. Take it with you to the craft beer station, where no fewer than 15 beers are ready to try.

Using it was very simple and fun. First, take a chilled glass from the refrigerator, then press it upside down firmly onto the rinser nozzle beneath the taps for a clean, cold rinse. Tap the wristband against the tag zone at the bottom of the tap screen—beep!—then pull the lever and the beer starts flowing.

The screen counts the volume and price in real time by the milliliter, just like a gas pump. That made it possible to taste small pours of several beers like a sampler, or fill up generously with only the beer I liked best, which felt very reasonable. I was completely absorbed in the fun of choosing among 15 flavors, from ales and lagers to dark beers.

Bulgogi pizza, rosé tteokbokki, and the best wing set

For food to go with the drinks, we chose the Long Time No See Best Set, which lets you try the spot's signature combination all at once.

It came generously loaded with bulgogi pizza, rosé tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes in rosé sauce), and wing-and-drumettes—enough to make the table legs buckle.

The most unexpected standout was the bulgogi pizza.

The crust was very thin yet chewy, and it was piled so high it looked ready to spill over with savory-sweet bulgogi topping and nutty cheese. One bite filled my mouth with rich flavor.

The rosé tteokbokki served alongside it was creamy with a gentle spicy kick at the finish, which cut through the richness of the cheese beautifully.

Finally, the golden-brown wing-and-drumettes had that irresistibly addictive flavor everyone knows, making them perfect beer food.

And if you visit before 7 PM, you can even receive complimentary injeolmi ice cream.

With nutty soybean powder sprinkled over sweet, cold vanilla ice cream, it was an excellent dessert to sweetly round out the meal.

Final thoughts on night views and craft beer

This was a charming spot where I could enjoy both a fantastic night view through expansive windows and the unusual fun of pouring 15 craft beers myself. The thin, generously topped pizza paired wonderfully with the spicy rosé tteokbokki, and I was highly satisfied with every part of the meal, right down to the chewy ice cream from the before-7-PM event.
