We sat near the entrance, but the interior was quite spacious and had lots of tables. It is a beef tartare spot that can easily accommodate groups too. We visited early, yet there were already quite a few people.

Notice about using Korean beef

Ordering live octopus Korean beef tartare and beef sushi

The menu is as shown above. We ordered san-nakji Korean beef tartare, served with live octopus, and Korean beef sushi. In particular, it is a place where you can also try san-nakji (live octopus), so there is plenty to enjoy.

First, the complimentary bar snack arrived: beef and radish soup. Even this soup alone was such a perfect drinking snack that I could have had more than one bottle of soju with it.

Our san-nakji Korean beef tartare arrived. You could tell just by its color that the tartare was very fresh. It was clear they use beef slaughtered that day. The live octopus was also very fresh—you could see it wriggling.

The combination of black sesame sauce and egg yolk

Sauces for dipping the tartare and live octopus came with it, and the black sesame sauce paired especially well with the tartare. Every sauce went nicely with it, really.

I added the egg yolk that came with it to the tartare and mixed it in. Mixing in the yolk brought out the richness and made it wonderfully soft. The yolk really deepened the flavor of the tartare. What was appealing was that the tartare was tender rather than chewy.

First, I tried it mixed with egg yolk and without any sauce. Perhaps because it was Korean beef, it was unmistakably tender and fresh—excellent. You sometimes get frozen Korean beef tartare at buffets, but this was not even comparable. Compared with other tartare places, Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch was remarkably tender and fresh.

After having a drink or two with the tartare, the Korean beef sushi arrived. Perhaps because it was also made with fresh beef, it was wonderfully tender. It just melted in my mouth. It suited my friend's taste so well that they practically inhaled an entire plate alone. That is how fresh and tender the Korean beef was.

Customers kept coming in, even at an early dinner hour

If you are looking for a great Korean beef tartare spot near Suwon Station, I think Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch stands out. Perhaps because it uses Korean beef, its fresh and tender flavor is excellent. There are also plenty of tables, with enough space even for groups.

We visited just before 5 p.m., which was a rather early dinner hour. Even so, people kept coming in. There must be a reason it has held its place here for so long. I think it is because they make proper beef tartare.

We ordered only one tartare dish, yet drank quite a lot. I am not someone who drinks especially well. But when the drinking food is delicious and fresh, the drinks just go down on their own.

They sell Korean beef tartare bibimbap as well as tartare, so being able to have a full meal is another appealing point. If you are looking for Korean beef tartare near Suwon Station, I recommend Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch.
