Where is Hoegi Wang Galbitang? 5 minutes from Hoegi Station Exit 1
Today I want to introduce Hoegi Wang Galbitang (회기왕갈비탕), a restaurant near Hoegi Station haha. This Hoegi Station restaurant recommendation is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1, so it was super accessible from the station :)

Here's the exterior of Hoegi Wang Galbitang haha. The white sign with the Hoegi Wang Galbitang logo caught my eye from far away, and the full glass front gave it a really open feel ^^

There was also a galbitang illustration painted on the window, giving off total real-deal galbitang restaurant vibes :)

Inside Hoegi Wang Galbitang: solo seats and the self-serve bar
Here's the inside of Hoegi Wang Galbitang haha.

Stepping inside, it was much roomier and more pleasant than I expected — plenty of tables ranging from solo seats to four-person tables, so you can comfortably eat alone without feeling self-conscious! The bright lighting also made the space feel clean and open, so it looked great for a date or a meal with your parents too haha.

There was also a self-serve bar with puffed barley crackers, diced radish kimchi, and kimchi, so you could take as much as you wanted ^^
Hoegi Wang Galbitang menu: galbitang options and braised short ribs

Here's the menu at Hoegi Wang Galbitang, a solid solo-dining spot near Hoegi Station haha. As you can tell from the name, this place specializes in galbitang — they say they use 120kg of ribs every day, soaking out the blood for 12 hours and washing them thoroughly before use..!!
They also do an initial 1-hour parboil, over 6 hours of trimming the meat, then simmer it for another 2 hours with healthy ingredients and seasoning — a lot of care goes into every bowl of galbitang.
Starting with the regular galbitang, there was also spicy galbitang, special king galbitang, and a meat-heavy aronsatae galbitang packed with meat — so quite a variety of galbitang!! There's also braised short ribs (galbi-jjim), which would be great to order and share if you're visiting with a group ^^ I ordered the galbitang this time :)

The side dishes served first, including house-made seokbakji
After ordering, these side dishes came out first haha. The side dishes were seokbakji (radish kimchi), peppers, and onion ^^ They said the seokbakji is made in-house, and it had such deep savory flavor that it seemed like a perfect match with galbitang!

Two rib bones in the basic galbitang: how did it taste?
Next came today's main dish, the galbitang haha.

I was surprised the moment the food arrived just by the visuals — there were two large rib bones in it, and they were so tender that they were easy to pick apart!!

Inside the galbitang were glass noodles, scallions, and egg garnish, and the tender short rib meat had zero gamey smell — the rich meat juices were really the charm :)

Mixing the rice that comes with it into the galbitang, the savory broth combined with the spicy kick of the seokbakji and the meaty aroma of the short ribs was an absolute rice-thief haha.

Personally, even the regular galbitang comes with so much meat that it's enough to make even an adult man sick of eating meat!!

For the final dessert, they gave us grandma's misugaru and puffed barley crackers, and the misugaru was so nutty and delicious haha.
Verdict: is Hoegi Wang Galbitang worth a trip to Hoegi Station?
Here's my review of Hoegi Wang Galbitang, a restaurant recommendation near Hoegi Station haha. I'd highly recommend Hoegi Wang Galbitang to office workers or students near Hoegi Station who are looking for a Korean restaurant with real homestyle cooking :)
Personally, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it the best galbitang of my life — finishing a bowl made with that much care felt like a proper nourishing meal ^^ The location was great too, within 5 minutes' walk of Hoegi Station, and the interior is kept clean and tidy, so it'd be great for a date or a family meal!!
Since Hoegi Wang Galbitang specializes in galbitang with a variety of types plus braised short ribs, you can order according to your taste, and takeout is available too, so you could pack some home and portion it out haha.
I tried the galbitang this time, and with two big rib bones in the bowl, I couldn't help but gasp at the visuals alone!! The soft, juicy rib meat dipped in the broth was really delicious!! And the broth wasn't an artificial savoriness but a deep, clean flavor that came from the ingredients themselves — the kind of taste that keeps you reaching for more even when you're full, and having grandma's misugaru for dessert at the end was a nice touch :)
If you're near Hoegi Station looking for a restaurant near Kyung Hee University or a genuinely good Hoegi restaurant, I confidently recommend Hoegi Wang Galbitang haha.
