Here for unlimited eel and pork belly
Today, I visited Songrim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel Unlimited Refill Jeongwang Direct Branch (송림복장어 민물장어 무한리필 정왕직영점) in Siheung, which I’m visiting for the nth time to enjoy unlimited eel and pork belly. There are several branches, but today it was off to the Jeongwang Direct Branch, close to my office. Eating out lately can really empty your wallet, but isn’t ₩29,900 an incredible deal when you’re getting a nourishing meal too?

There is a large parking lot right in front, so driving here is totally okay!! Parking around Jeongwang Station is actually really difficult, so I was so relieved to find such a spacious lot.

With parking taken care of perfectly, I went in feeling good. I was so excited to have fresh eel again after such a long time.

I visited on a weekday, so it was very quiet and I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. Songrim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel Unlimited Refill Jeongwang Direct Branch uses the entire first floor, making it spacious and perfect for groups or get-togethers.

Table-setting fees and dessert options
Let’s take a look at the menu at Songrim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel Unlimited Refill Jeongwang Direct Branch. There is no table-setting fee for children, while adults do pay one. They also have dessert options, so when you start to tire of eel a little, yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) or ramen would be a nice, refreshing change.

How should you grill eel for the best flavor?
Read the instructions posted at every table for eating eel deliciously, and you can enjoy this pricey ingredient even more. They say it is important to grill the eel with its back facing down.

They bring the basic table setting directly to you like this. The neatly arranged side dishes really awaken your appetite and make the eel taste even better.

Eel, pork belly, and chicken neck meat together
Really, we came to Songrim Bok Jangeo for the eel! The eel caught my eye most of all, and even though it is unlimited refill, its quality is not lacking at all—it is incredibly fresh. Since eel alone can become a bit much, Songrim Bok Jangeo also serves pork belly and chicken neck meat.

A neat, generously stocked self-service bar
I was honestly surprised when I saw this place’s self-service bar. It was so clean and well organized that I could really feel the owner’s personality. And instead of putting out just a few timid pieces of eel, they stocked it so generously—their generosity is no joke.

Beyond the three meat stars, the side dishes are not left uncovered either; they have lids, which makes everything feel hygienic.

Grilling eel and pork belly on one grill
The pork belly is sprinkled with what looks like pine needles(?), which helps remove any unwanted smell. I loved that I could grill the eel and pork belly together without changing the grill. My dining partner is on team eel, while I prefer pork belly, but at Songrim Bok Jangeo, we were both happy! Remember: grilling the eel back-side down first is the best way to enjoy it.

The heat was quite strong, so everything cooked so well. I came after work and was really hungry, but it cooked quickly without much waiting.
If you think the pork belly might be disappointing because it is a side player, that thought will disappear as soon as you try it at Songrim Bok Jangeo. Pork belly alone can feel expensive, but when you can enjoy eel alongside it, the price becomes reasonable and great value.

Eel with sauce and ginger
Dip the eel generously in sauce and top it with ginger, and you get the perfect trio all at once: restored energy, stamina, and flavor.

I simply could not pass up such good food without a drink, so of course I ordered a bottle of soju too. Looking around, everyone seemed to consider drinks a given, haha.

I also ordered a bowl of rice and made something like an eel rice bowl. Top the plump eel with pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi), and you are simply happy.

I lost track of how many rounds I had gone back for, but the owner did not make me feel self-conscious at all, so I could help myself comfortably.

Doesn’t my food-savvy friend’s wrap look delicious? There are plenty of side dishes to eat in different ways, so all kinds of combinations are possible. Find the one you like best.

Spicy ramen that cut through the richness
Just as I was getting a little full and the richness was starting to set in, I got hooked on the spicy ramen. You know when you have been drinking soju and suddenly want soup too? It is ramen I eat at home often, but I have no idea why it tastes better when I order it out, haha.

True to its name, the spicy ramen was generously sprinkled with red pepper powder, and even with an egg mixed in, it was nicely hot—perfect for curing a hangover!!! With springy noodles and a savory-spicy broth, I had a satisfying meal at Songrim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel Unlimited Refill Jeongwang Direct Branch. It has a large parking lot in Jeongwang-dong, making it just right for a gathering or company dinner, and how great is it that you can enjoy nourishing unlimited eel here!!!
