In short
Stack Bakery Konkuk University Station Main Branch is a two-floor bakery café in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, in an alley between Konkuk Univ. and Ttukseom Hangang Park. The writer stopped by Stack Bakery around 7pm on a weekend after dinner, ate an olive cheese pastry and a plain croissant there, and took the choco flan home because they were too full. Verdict: Stack Bakery's buttery, back-to-basics croissants and neat packaging made it satisfying both in the café and at home.

I visited Stack Bakery, which has been getting buzz among pastry lovers lately, near Konkuk Univ. and Ttukseom Hangang Park, haha.

Where is Stack Bakery and where can you park?
Stack Bakery is a pretty bakery café at an alley entrance between Konkuk Univ. and Ttukseom Hangang Park! Since it's close to the park, it's also great for grabbing bread to go and having a picnic, haha.

I came by car and parked at the Jayang 4-dong Traditional Market public parking lot! It's an 8-minute walk from the lot to Stack Bakery.

Stack Bakery layout and 2nd-floor seating
The 1st floor has the bakery and the counter, and the seating is on the 2nd floor. Check for a seat upstairs first, then order.

The tables and chairs are laid out comfortably and neatly, so it was a perfect space to enjoy the sunlight pouring through the big windows and just relax, haha. The space itself is so pretty that it's a photo spot where you'll get your best shots!

The owner keeps blankets and cushions out, and I was so touched by that thoughtfulness... you can see little details like this everywhere.

Stack Bakery drink options and ₩1,000 takeout discount
Stack Bakery gives ₩1,000 off for takeout, and you can switch drinks to decaf or oat or almond milk, so it's easy to order to your taste.
Here's what I ordered! (Yes, I'd already eaten dinner, don't tell anyone...)
- Olive pastry
- Plain croissant
- Choco flan
- Iced hibiscus
- Iced café latte

Is there still bread at Stack Bakery at 7pm on a weekend?
When I visited Stack Bakery around 7pm on a weekend, the showcase wasn't completely full, but there was still plenty of delicious bread, haha.

The plain croissant is the star at the Konkuk Univ. Stack Bakery, so I waited with high expectations, haha.

The restroom inside Stack Bakery is also spacious and pleasant, so it was great for chatting for a long time :)

Stack Bakery olive cheese pastry and plain croissant: how they taste
Ta-da~! Our order is finally here!

Just looking at the tray packed with food made me feel full and happy... I definitely ate dinner before this....
Olive cheese pastry
Stack Bakery's olive cheese pastry has a sweet-and-salty charm. Salty cheese flavor and briny olives are studded all over layered, crisp, flaky pastry dough, and every bite is insanely savory ㅜㅜ
Plain croissant
Stack Bakery's plain croissant shatters lightly the moment you bite in, with a soft, moist inside, and it spreads a rich, nutty, buttery aroma through your mouth, as if they used good butter generously!! It really is a back-to-basics croissant place,, a croissant with no tricks is insanely good,,,

Too full to finish: Stack Bakery choco flan to go
In the end I was just way too full, lol! It was a shame, but I asked them to pack the Stack Bakery choco flan, the thing I'd looked forward to most, so I could savor it at home. They wrapped it neatly and carefully, so I got it home safely without it getting squished.
Is Stack Bakery near Konkuk Univ. worth a return visit?
At the Konkuk Univ. Stack Bakery, I couldn't find a single bad bite: the croissant with its standout nutty flavor from sticking to the basics, the olive cheese pastry with its salty charm, and the rich choco flan that was wonderful even as a home-café treat after takeout! If you're looking for a cozy bakery café with a great atmosphere and really delicious desserts near Ttukseom Hangang Park or Konkuk Univ., definitely stop by Stack Bakery!
