Pangyo omakase lunch with bar seating: Suyori Sikdang
In short
Suyori Sikdang is a Japanese-inspired global omakase restaurant in Sampyeong-dong, Seongnam. I had lunch with my sister and enjoyed abalone, porridge, topped sushi, tempura, and maki. The explanations and varied course were good, though the meal felt long for light eaters and seats fill quickly.

My sister and I had an omakase lunch at Suyori Sikdang (수요리식당) in Sampyeong-dong, Pangyo. I have not had omakase many times, so I was both excited and a little nervous.

What was omakase like at the bar table?
Every seat at Suyori Sikdang is at a bar table. Because the seating faces the chef, we could immediately hear an explanation whenever each piece of food was served.

I liked that the staff explained each dish and took careful care of us. Even though I was not familiar with omakase, I felt comfortable dining while listening to the explanations.

What are the lunch price, reservation times, and parking like?
The lunch price listed when I visited started at ₩45,000. I made a reservation through Catchtable, and lunch was divided into a first seating at 11:40 and a second seating at 1 p.m.
- The listed hours were 11:30–22:00, with a break from 14:30–17:00. The restaurant was closed every Sunday.
- Reservations were available for up to 11 people, and dinner was described as a reservation-based visit without separate seating sessions.
- Parking was free for two hours.
- The address is B126, B-dong, Basement 1, 230 Pangyo-yeok-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, South Korea (경기도 성남시 분당구 판교역로 230 B동 B126호 지하1층).
What came in the lunch course?
It was a Japanese-inspired global omakase, and the course we had began with abalone and porridge. The sushi that followed was topped with an accompaniment chosen to suit each piece.

The toppings I remember included shiso, truffle, and yuzu. Each bite released a different aroma, which made the meal fun. The chef explained each piece, but there were so many varieties that I was disappointed I could not remember them all.

How was the course size and value for the price?
My sister and I are both light eaters, but the course was longer and more varied than expected, so we were very full toward the end. It was almost difficult to finish, but I was satisfied because the selection was diverse for the listed lunch price.

Tempura and maki also appeared along the way. Because different kinds of food came between the sushi, I could keep eating without getting tired of it.

Was it good for two people, and were there any drawbacks?
It was comfortable for my sister and me to eat together, and it felt private. I thought it would also suit a special lunch or dinner. However, every seat is at a bar table, and because there are not many seats, reservations fill up quickly, which was disappointing.

My sister also said it was delicious and even ate the tempura I could not finish because I was full. I remember the kind service and the varied selection of aromas.

Udon also came out, and there were some dishes I did not photograph because I was busy eating. Overall, everything felt fresh and the course was varied. Being able to eat while listening to explanations made this a meal I would recommend to people trying omakase for the first time.
