Spicy pork ribs 2+1 deal and honeycomb pork skin in Naju: Chamsutjip
In short
Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch is a charcoal pork rib restaurant on Green-ro near the lake park in Bitgaram-dong, Naju. The writer ordered the standing 2+1 spicy pork rib deal, added honeycomb pork skin, doenjang jjigae with mussels, mul naengmyeon, and jjagyechi (ramyeon with egg and cheese), with seasoned crab and acorn jelly cucumber salad as banchan. The 2+1 deal alone was filling enough without extra orders, making it a solid pick for after-work dinners or team dinners.

Outdoor tables facing the park, camping vibes
Chamsutjip — even the name ("charcoal house") radiates authenticity! You all know meat tastes best grilled over real charcoal, right? There are outdoor tables too, so you can get a bit of a camping feel out here!!! Since it faces the park, the whole place has this atmospheric, almost campsite mood even though it's a restaurant. You know how gorgeous the evening weather was this week, right? Maybe that's why there were quite a few guests eating outdoors when I visited haha

A good vibe for team dinners
I visited around 7pm and there were lots of Bitgaram-dong office workers who'd just clocked off. It's a solid spot for team dinners! Department treasurers, take note when booking your next company dinner~ (A friend of mine who actually handles this stuff for her team saw the vibe and was very satisfied lol)

Kids' chairs mean family outings too
There are chairs for little ones too~ Cute chairs. Lots of families come here too. Since pork tends to be less polarizing than other meats, it seems like a good place for three generations — grandparents to grandkids — to eat out together haha
The menu board and the spicy pork rib 2+1 deal

Chamsutjip's own special deal! Order 2 servings of spicy pork ribs and they give you 1 more serving free — this 2+1 event runs all the time! I ordered the 2+1 spicy pork ribs too! And it would be a shame to skip the pork skin... so I ordered that too hahaha

You can grab whatever banchan you're missing from the self-serve bar.

This is the basic table setting before the charcoal arrives. Some people were grilling right at the outdoor tables too. Next time I want to try eating outside!!!

Seasoned crab and cucumber jelly salad as banchan
The seasoned crab and acorn jelly (dotorimuk) cucumber salad that come as banchan. Isn't a BBQ place that gives you seasoned crab for free basically a rare find these days? And I really love jelly, so having acorn jelly cucumber salad as a side was even better. The jelly in particular seemed to have a high acorn content — really dense flavor — which I loved even more.

How the spicy pork ribs tasted grilled over charcoal
Ta-da~ the 2+1 spicy pork ribs and pork skin arrived! Take another look! Haha ordering the pork skin along with everything from the start meant it all came out together, which was convenient and nice haha

Grilling spicy pork ribs over real charcoal at Chamsutjip, a go-to spot in Naju Innovation City... it looks so good. I'm drooling already.

Basic doenjang jjigae with crab and mussels
The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that comes as part of the basic table setting has crab, tofu, and mussels in it — it's genuinely delicious!! I usually don't order rice when eating meat, but one taste of this jjigae and I immediately added a bowl of rice... lol (turns out there's even a lunch single-item menu for it!)

Even the garlic gets thrown on the charcoal, chomp chomp

Piled high on a perilla leaf, yum~ The seasoning has soaked in deep and with the charcoal aroma added on top, the pork ribs are moist and delicious, melting right in your mouth!! Devoured it in no time! Thanks to the 2+1 deal, I was full and happy without needing to order more.

Honeycomb pork skin, two flavors with bean powder and curry powder
They grill the pork skin for you too. Take a close look haha it was so chewy and thick, really delicious. Of course you've got to add pork skin at a BBQ place!!! It's even honeycomb-cut, with slits scored all over, which made it soft and moist and tasty. They also give you bean powder and a curry-like powder, so you get to dip it two different ways — such a nice bonus!

Dessert: mul naengmyeon and jjagyechi
For dessert, mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in icy broth) rinses your palate. Honestly it doesn't even have to be dessert. You know how naengmyeon and pork ribs get sold as a set combo these days? They really pair well together. Right now if you subscribe for alerts on Naver and make a reservation, there's a coupon going around for a free mul naengmyeon, so check that out and try getting it free~~ The naengmyeon bowl is pretty too, the icy broth is so refreshing, and the noodle portion is generous enough to enjoy as a filling side!!!
And then jjagyechi (jjapaghetti + egg + cheese) blew my mind! Surely no one doesn't know what jjagyechi means, right? Actually my friend didn't know — she thought it was some kind of saltily-boiled kimchi jjigae, lol. I really love jjapaguri, and Chamsutjip's jjagyechi had that same chewy, bouncy, delicious quality! So I left completely full after a truly delicious meal.

They also have a doenjang jjigae single-item lunch menu with a decent price, and above all it's absolutely delicious, so it makes me want to come back for lunch too haha

Spend ₩50,000+ and get a free game of bowling upstairs
And if you take your receipt showing ₩50,000 or more spent at Chamsutjip up to the bowling alley right above, you get a free game coupon!! Eat pork ribs, then bowl a bit to help digest — you'll be known as the person who really ate well and played well (typing this in an old-uncle tone haha)! That's my record of visiting Chamsutjip, the spicy pork rib spot in Bitgaram-dong, Naju!!! It was so delicious and the staff were so kind — I'm leaving with really good memories~~~
