Yukhoe futomaki and mazesoba for two at Choi Dining, Yangju
In short
Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is a fusion Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Bujaro Tower, the main commercial building in Okjeong-dong, Yangju. Visiting without a reservation for two, the writer ordered salmon futomaki, yukhoe (beef tartare) futomaki, and the best-seller mazesoba, finding the raw beef paired surprisingly well with the gimbap ingredients and the thick mazesoba sauce clung nicely to the noodles. With solo tables as well as roomy group seating, it works for solo dining, family meals, and dates alike.

I really love Japanese food and had been wanting to keep visiting Japanese restaurants, so I finally decided to check out Choi Dining, a fusion Japanese spot in Okjeong that I'd heard was delicious haha.

I visited without a reservation this time, but reservations are possible, so booking ahead might make things even more comfortable!!
Location and parking at Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong

It's on the 2nd floor of Bujaro Tower, the main commercial building in Okjeong-dong! Same building as Bobae Jeom and Matchandeul, on the 2nd floor. It's across from Shinhan Bank, so it was easy to find. If the building's own parking lot is full, you can also use Dream Tower 2's parking lot, so it was easy to get to even with nearby parking.

The store is right on the right as soon as you step off the elevator!! The weekday lunch set is discounted, so visiting for lunch gives you even better value! It's a 2-person set, so it seems great for a date course too. They also have a tie-up with nearby Coffee Cook, so if you want coffee after your meal, you can enjoy it even more affordably.

The place was quite large and clean, which I liked! The tables were spaced well apart too, so it was comfortable to eat.

The menu and kiosk ordering
Such a cute menu! We ordered mostly best-sellers today. Looking through reviews, I saw the tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) is famous for being crispy outside and juicy inside, but since it was just the two of us and we couldn't finish everything, we unfortunately didn't order it, ㅠㅠ. Apparently the frying isn't heavy and tastes clean — I really want to try it next time!

Ordering was easy via kiosk! There were so many types of futomaki (thick sushi roll) that it was fun to choose, and I saw a lot of reviews for the pasta and rice bowls too, so I definitely want to try those next time!! The menu is really varied, so it seems great to come with young kids too. There's a review event, Naver coupon, and reservation discount, so if you want to save, applying the right discount ahead of time could make it even better value!

Salmon futomaki and yukhoe futomaki
First out were the salmon futomaki and yukhoe (beef tartare) futomaki! The plating alone looked so appetizing. Both the salmon and the yukhoe were fresh and delicious.

The salmon pieces were nice and chunky, and the sauce paired well, so it wasn't greasy at all and was delicious. I'm not usually someone who bothers eating the danmuji (pickled radish) that comes with it, but the combination here was so good I ate it happily!!

This was my first time trying yukhoe futomaki, and it worked way better than I expected. The yukhoe portion was generous and the ingredients felt substantial, so I ate it happily.

How was the best-seller mazesoba?
The mazesoba I ordered with high expectations since it's the best-seller!!

There was a lot of scallion, which gave it great texture as well as flavor. The sauce was slightly thick too, which paired well with the noodles. They said the seasoning is strong, so if you ask, they'll give you rice!! Since it was just the two of us, we sadly couldn't try it, but I think the sauce with rice would go really well together.

They say it's a place that sticks to the basics with fresh ingredients daily, and honestly it tasted like something anyone could enjoy without any burden. Thanks to menu items like tonkatsu and pasta, kids can enjoy it too, so there were a lot of families there haha.

Seating for solo diners, families, and dates alike
There are solo tables, so if you love Japanese food, solo dining here is highly recommended!! The atmosphere is nice, so it also looks great for family meals or dates. And a lot of people were ordering delivery too. Recommended for late-night eats too!!

The staff were so kind and the service was great, so I had a really pleasant meal. The place is clean and the food is tasty, so I think I'll come back again. Recommending this cute and delicious restaurant~~
