Found a weekday galbi set lunch in Yangju for ₩19,000 that comes with handmade seasoned pork galbi AND naengmyeon haha. It's not just meat either — you also get a hearty chadol doenjang sulbap, so it's a full meal.
I had some business in Yangju and wanted meat for lunch, so I looked around and found today's spot: Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, a well-known restaurant in Yangju. Their weekday lunch handmade galbi set is ₩19,000 per person and comes with seasoned pork galbi, chadol doenjang sulbap, and naengmyeon all together — pretty solid composition. There were three of us, so we ordered three servings of the set.
Open daily 11:00–22:00

Is there parking? Free lot right in front
We drove there, and there's a spacious parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Free parking!

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch! I've been to the branch elsewhere in Yangju and the Uijeongbu branch too, but I think this main branch is the most impressive.

This is my fifth visit to Manpo Galbi (including other branches), and each location has its own upscale Manpo Galbi vibe haha.

Interior and seating
The tables weren't cramped at all — there were regular tables plus booth seats with partitions, so it looked good for family meals.

Whenever I go to a Korean BBQ place with tables packed too close together, I end up feeling a bit self-conscious the whole meal, but here the spacing was generous and comfortable.

There were also separate group seating areas inside for larger parties, so it seemed like a good spot for family gatherings with parents or group get-togethers. Each table has its own charcoal grill and ventilation hood installed, so you grill the galbi over charcoal yourself.

The restaurant has a second floor with a private room too, so it looked good for family events like 60th birthday parties or first birthday celebrations!

Menu and the ₩19,000 weekday galbi set lunch
Manpo Galbi has charcoal-grilled menu items like handmade seasoned pork galbi ₩19,000, Hanwoo-fed pork ribs ₩21,000, handmade LA galbi ₩28,000, and fresh/seasoned beef galbi ₩38,000. There were also separate meal menu items like galbitang, ppyeogaejang, and yukhoe bibimbap.
What we ordered was the weekday handmade galbi set for ₩19,000, which comes with 250g of handmade seasoned pork galbi, naengmyeon, and chadol doenjang sulbap. It's only orderable weekdays 11:00–15:00, excluding weekends and holidays. These days, ordering galbi plus naengmyeon separately easily runs past ₩20,000, so getting both together for ₩19,000 was what I liked most.

Side dishes plus yukhoe and yukjeon
After ordering, a whole spread of basic side dishes arrived too. Manpo Galbi's banchan are seriously well done! We got scallion strips, radish salad, potato salad, pickled vegetables, cucumber salad, and more — mostly things that pair well with meat. Since the galbi itself is seasoned, eating something sour or crunchy in between kept it from getting monotonous, and I just kept eating.
There was also a generous separate portion of onion strips and a salad, good for picking at between bites of meat.

It's not just the usual Korean BBQ side dishes here — you also get yukhoe, salad, and yukjeon. The yukjeon is tasty on its own, and later I put it on top of my naengmyeon for a sort of yukjeon-naengmyeon style haha.

And the yukhoe I love! Finely chopped yukhoe was piled up round on top with vegetables underneath — good for picking at while the meat grilled haha. A galbi restaurant that serves yukhoe is a rare find!
Free Hamhung naengmyeon
One of the biggest highlights of Manpo Galbi is that the naengmyeon is free! It's Hamhung-style naengmyeon with house-made noodles. When you eat pork galbi at a galbi place and don't get naengmyeon, it always feels like something's missing haha. Adding a naengmyeon usually costs close to ₩8,000–10,000 these days, so having it included in the set was clearly a plus. Cutting up the yukjeon and putting it on top made the flavor double!

Chadol doenjang sulbap
The hearty, much-anticipated chadol doenjang sulbap. When eating meat, you really need something like a warm doenjang stew or a rice dish, right?

The doenjang's savory flavor soaked into the rice, which held onto the broth nicely — good eaten with meat. A lunch special that includes naengmyeon and doenjang sulbap at this price — that's really not bad, right?

The main event: 250g handmade seasoned galbi
And now, today's main dish! Handmade seasoned galbi

At a glance, the meat wasn't sliced thin — it came in big, hearty chunks. Manpo Galbi says they use 100% real pork galbi, so as soon as the charcoal was ready, we started grilling.

Full spread haha

Galbi is definitely better on charcoal than a griddle haha. As soon as the meat hits the grill, the sauce drips onto the charcoal and sends up that sweet, smoky aroma — that's when I start thinking about rice.

With seasoned galbi, it's easy for the sauce to be overly sweet or overpowering and get tiring fast, but here the sweetness wasn't as strong as I expected.

They said the sauce is made with fruit, and overall it wasn't harsh — more of that classic sweet-and-savory galbi flavor we all know.

The bone-in sections especially had thick meat around them, so it was fun picking them apart bite by bite haha.

Sliced up and eaten with scallion strips on top, it was great, but personally my favorite combo was with the onion strips.

Can't skip the lettuce wraps either haha

Dessert corner: ppeongtwigi ice cream
On the way out after finishing our meal, we noticed a separate dessert corner. Ice cups were set up for iced coffee, and next to it was a soft-serve machine — with the unique method of piling the ice cream on top of ppeongtwigi (puffed rice cracker) haha.
After eating meat, my mouth felt a bit heavy, but one cold scoop of ice cream hit the spot. From the meal to naengmyeon to dessert, we got everything done in one place.

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch: the wrap-up
If you're going for weekday lunch, I'd recommend the handmade galbi set over ordering a single dish. For ₩19,000 you get 250g of handmade seasoned pork galbi, chadol doenjang sulbap, and naengmyeon all at once — the spread ended up more generous than expected. Above all, the parking lot out front is large and there's plenty of indoor seating, so it's a solid option if you're looking for somewhere to eat as a family in Yangju. If you want handmade pork galbi with real charcoal aroma — not just sweet sauce — along with naengmyeon on the side, give the weekday handmade galbi set at Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch a try haha.
