A cozy retreat full of atmosphere in the middle of the city. While looking for a mood-filled café to unwind during this Mokpo trip, I visited 'GRAY LAZY,' a hotspot near Namak/Mokpo. True to its concept of 'a laid-back gray zone in the city,' it was a wonderful space to enjoy quiet, cozy vibes along with unique, carefully made desserts.
It's located right near the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City Hall, and not far from Mokpo National University's Namak Campus and Lotte Outlet either.
Where GRAY LAZY is in Namak, and what the café looks like
GRAY LAZY is a dessert café on the 2nd floor of a building in Namak, Samhyang-eup, Muan — and there's no actual signboard. You go up just by following a note posted by the elevator on the first floor.

Once you step onto the 2nd floor, you're greeted by a modern, well-put-together interior that's a total contrast to the outside.
A calm gray base combined with stylish lighting and comfortable furniture layout gives off a quiet feel. It's great for a date course, and also lovely to visit alone to read quietly or chat over coffee.
How ordering works at GRAY LAZY: take a menu and fill in an order slip
What especially caught my eye was the menu board right as you walk in. The system is to carry it in, write your order on a slip with a pencil, and hand it to the counter, haha.
There's a private room too, which would be great for meeting up with a group.
There's also a high chair, a coat rack, and even a pet-friendly space.
There's also a self-service packing station.
They also sell a variety of goods! Personally, I really liked the pretty bookstand, haha.
It's also nice that the restrooms are located inside the café.
What's on the GRAY LAZY menu
The menu ranges from a clean, nutty americano to the signature 'Agom latte' with a cute bear-shaped ice gimmick, ades, teas, and special lattes.
I got to see them brewing the handmade cold brew right in front of me like this.
For dessert there are churros, candied chestnut cake, pudding, brownies, and more, haha.

Cream brownie with ice cream (6,500 won)
After the deep chocolate flavor comes a sweet, nutty cream, and it pairs beautifully with the sweet ice cream. The contrast between cold and sweet is great too.
The brownie was super dense and rich, exactly my style. It's the kind of thing that spreads a wave of pleasure through your whole mouth, haha.
Candied chestnut cake (8,500 won)
This cake really let the mild, nutty sweetness of the carefully candied chestnuts shine. There's a hint of chestnut flavor between the soft sponge and the cozy cream.
It's really soft and sweet, perfect to enjoy with coffee as a dessert.
House-made iced decaf cold brew (5,500 won)
This cold brew's charm is its cleanness. The color looks so clear and refreshing too, haha. Paired with the sweet brownie ice cream and the soft candied chestnut cake, it neutralizes the sweetness of the desserts, making it an absolutely perfect match.
Is GRAY LAZY worth a stop? Final verdict
This time at the calm, refined space that is GRAY LAZY, I got to try the cute Agom latte, the luxurious candied chestnut cake, and crispy-outside-soft-inside churros with ice cream. Thanks to the stylish interior and delicious menu, it's perfect for relaxing conversation or a date after a meal.
It's a place that stays memorable for the combination of nutty, clean americano and sweet handmade desserts — I recommend visiting without hesitation on a day when you need some everyday healing.
