When you’re craving a warm broth in Seongbok-dong
As the weather has gotten quite cool, it’s finally the season when I start craving warm broth dishes. This time, I visited Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch with my husband. From noodles and pork cutlet to potato pancake, there wasn’t a single disappointing dish, so let me introduce it to you.
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch is in Seongbok-dong, so it is fairly easy to get to. It is also close to Seongbok Station, making it a nice place to visit when you are looking for somewhere to eat; it is conveniently located for a family meal or lunch, too. If you have been looking for a good place to eat in Seongbok-dong, Suji, it is worth visiting at least once.
Hours are 11:00–21:00 daily, with last orders at 20:20. Hours may change, so I recommend checking the restaurant’s information before your visit!! It tends to be busy at lunch and dinner, so visiting just outside peak meal times will let you dine a little more leisurely.

Free parking is available in the building, so it was easy to visit by car. Seongbok-dong is an area where many people drive, and I loved being able to enjoy the meal without worrying about parking.

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch had a neat, modern exterior that really stood out. The freestanding sign was easy to spot as I passed by, so finding it was no trouble, and the overall feel was orderly! Thirty-three life-changing noodle dishes?! My anticipation was already sky-high before the meal 😆

A spacious, comfortable dining atmosphere
The interior was spacious and pleasant. It had an easygoing atmosphere that made dining comfortable, and I saw all kinds of guests, from families and office workers to couples.

The well-maintained restaurant made the meal even more enjoyable.

Adult and children’s tableware was set out at the self-service station so you could easily take what you needed, haha!

There was also a café-like water station, haha.

Pan buckwheat soba and fresh noodle set meals
Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch sells a wide variety of dishes, including fresh noodles, buckwheat soba, pork cutlet, and Korean pancakes. There are so many choices that you get happily stuck deciding what to order. Hahaha, I want to work my way through every dish.

- Pan buckwheat soba set: ₩15,500
- Fresh noodle set: ₩15,000
- Chewy potato pancake: ₩8,000
The set meals include pork cutlet alongside the noodles, so they felt quite substantial.

Cool, springy pan buckwheat soba set
The first dish we tried was the pan buckwheat soba set. Dipping the bouncy buckwheat noodles into the chilled soba broth was wonderfully clean and refreshing. The noodles were especially chewy, so the bite was satisfying too.

The pork cutlet that came with it was better than expected, too. It was crisp outside and moist inside, with quality that rivaled a dedicated pork-cutlet restaurant.

A fresh noodle set that was perfect for a chilly day
The fresh noodle set we ate next was one of the most satisfying dishes of the day. Perhaps because the weather had turned chilly, the moment I had a sip of the steaming broth, it felt like my whole body was melting into comfort. The deep, clean broth paired beautifully with the soft fresh noodles, and I kept reaching for another spoonful.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone who usually enjoys warm noodles.

Chewy potato pancake, a great noodle side
And then there was the can’t-miss chewy potato pancake. Just as its name suggests, the potato pancake had a truly irresistibly chewy texture.

It was browned nicely on the outside while staying moist within, and the more I chewed, the more nutty potato flavor came through. It was also so good alongside the noodles. Honestly, everything we ordered that day was delicious, so I think I ate it all in a blur.

In the end, only empty bowls remained
In the end, we cleared every single thing we ordered, lol. You can tell immediately from the empty bowls how delicious it was, right?? I completely understood why so many people recommend it as a good restaurant in Seongbok-dong, Suji. It is not a place that does just one dish well—the noodles, pork cutlet, and Korean pancakes all delivered high overall satisfaction. If you are wondering what to eat in Seongbok-dong, save it to your Suji restaurant list and stop by, haha.
I went to Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch expecting a noodle specialist, but the pork cutlet and potato pancake were satisfying beyond expectations too. From chilled pan buckwheat soba and steaming fresh noodles to crisp pork cutlet and chewy potato pancake, not one dish fell short.
I would recommend it if you are looking for a family meal, lunch spot, or date location. It is a highly satisfying restaurant that I would like to revisit whenever I have a meal in Seongbok-dong again.
