Yongin Korean restaurant with free makguksu: Cheongdam Jokbal

In short

Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch is a Korean restaurant in Yongin, Gyeonggi, near Sanghyeon Station. We enjoyed Set No. 4 with tender bossam, chewy jokbal, mild free makguksu, and seaweed rice balls the kids loved. Cheongdam Jokbal was a great choice when we wanted both jokbal and bossam.

When you want jokbal and bossam together near Sanghyeon Station

We had errands in Gwanggyo this evening, so while we were there, we visited Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch for the jokbal/bossam my hubby had been begging for.

The combination of bossam that melted away in my mouth and delightfully chewy jokbal was fantastic—let’s get into this Cheongdam Jokbal post!

Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch: location and parking

Cheongdam Jokbal is by Sanghyeon Station on the Shinbundang Line. It is just two to three minutes from the subway station, and if you drive, you can park free for two hours in the building’s underground parking garage.

After parking, we took the elevator down to the first floor.

It is right beside the first-floor shopping arcade entrance. When the weather is cool like it is these days, eating outside would be lovely too! Takeout orders get ₩5,000 off—such a big discount!

Hours are 11:30 AM to 11:30 PM. There is no break time, so you can drop in comfortably whenever you like. And dine in to get free makguksu (buckwheat noodles)!

My jokbal-obsessed hubby says makguksu is an absolute must with jokbal, so it was wonderful that it came free without having to order it separately.

The interior is cozy. Including the outdoor area, though, it is quite spacious! We decided to eat inside because the kids might get cold.

Since we cannot handle spicy food, we ordered the large Set No. 4, without anything spicy, so we could try both bossam and jokbal. The makguksu comes as a free service.

Their jokbal uses fresh Korean pork trotters! They sell it on the same day it is made.

Aprons are hanging on the wall like that, and there are wet wipes in the utensil holder beneath the table, so just help yourself.

The table was set with side vegetables and sauces like this.

The bean sprout soup was so refreshing.. haha It was not spicy at all, so the kids ate it well too!

The free makguksu was mild, with soft noodles

The makguksu came out before the jokbal. It looks a little spicy, but it was not spicy at all when we ate it.

Maybe the noodles had just been boiled—they were incredibly soft, with none of that stiffness or dryness.

Chewy jokbal with no odor, and meltingly tender bossam

The jokbal finally arrived!! It looked so appetizing.. There was absolutely no pork odor, and its tender, chewy texture was outstanding! My hubby, who goes crazy for jokbal, was so happy haha.

The jokbal was warm, chewy, and delicious, but the bossam was not tough at all either—it was so soft it practically melted in my mouth.

My hubby made himself a proper ssam (lettuce wrap) and happily munched away haha. He told me to take a photo of his wrap, so I thought he was giving it to me—but he ate it himself haha. Seriously! haha

Leave a receipt review and you also get seaweed-flake rice balls for free! With jokbal, makguksu, and rice balls, our perfect meal was complete haha. The kids really enjoyed the seaweed-flake rice balls.

A jokbal and bossam family meal with the kids

There was tender, chewy jokbal made with fresh Korean pork trotters and no unpleasant odor; bossam that melted in the mouth; mild makguksu with soft noodles; and seaweed-flake rice balls that were easy for the kids to eat! I think it was so nice that we could enjoy such a variety of dishes at Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch.

I also thought it would be great for family meals like ours, company dinners, or get-togethers. If you are craving jokbal and wondering where to go, how about taking care of it at Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch?
