I had a get-together with friends in Yeouido after a long while, so we went to Ilpum, a Yeouido restaurant known for good sushi. It's located in the basement level of Anwon Building, so just look for the sign in the image above and head down the stairs.

Once you go down to the basement level of the building, you immediately see the exterior of Ilpum, this Yeouido sushi spot. It looked like this, and I liked that there were various menu images displayed so you could check the menu before going in. Such a clean-looking storefront!

There's also a menu board set up outside the restaurant.

Bar counter or 4-person table: which seats suit a group?

This is what the interior of Ilpum Yeouido Branch, this Yeouido sushi spot, looks like. The inside was really spacious and comfortable, with a huge bar counter set up. A great restaurant that can seat a lot of people! Ilpum in Yeouido.

Spacious interior seating, and since it's an open kitchen, you could watch the sushi being made.

Besides the bar seats, there were also 4-person tables, so it looked like a great place to visit for a group gathering too. We had booked ahead, and since there were three of us, we chose a table seat that was good for conversation!

A restaurant visited by many famous celebrities! There were tons of autographs hanging on the wall. It's a place Lee Young-ja has visited, so somehow that makes me trust it even more, hahaha 😂

Ilpum's menu was broadly divided into signature dishes / kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) / sushi.

They also have alcohol and drinks available, making Ilpum, this Yeouido sushi restaurant, a great place to enjoy a drink alongside delicious sushi.

Orders are placed via the QR code on the table. We ordered a sake-don and two servings of today's sushi.

What comes with the meal: side dishes and steamed egg

After we ordered, the first things to arrive as standard were the jangguk (clear soup), steamed egg, and water kimchi.

Unlike regular steamed egg, this one had a hint of crab flavor..! It was so good. At the bottom there were also shrimp and ginkgo nuts.

How was the sake-don (salmon rice bowl)?

First up, the sake-don. It came piled high with thick slices of salmon — such a gorgeous-looking dish!

Such a beautiful-looking sake-don. Put a piece of salmon on the seasoned rice, add some wasabi, dip it lightly in soy sauce, and it's truly delicious..! The seasoning was just right too. A dish where you could really taste how fresh the salmon was, haha.

What's in today's sushi set for 2

Next up, today's sushi. It came with a variety of sashimi sushi, egg roll, and maki (rolled sushi) — such a delicious lineup 🍣 The fresh, thick cuts of raw fish were the highlight of Ilpum, this Yeouido sushi restaurant!

Also, instead of maki, they served us eel sushi, which was also incredibly delicious.. 🩵 The eel was hearty and served grilled — honey-sweet flavor.

Sweet shrimp, flounder, seared salmon, tuna akami, sea bream, sweet shrimp maki, and even egg sushi — generous in portion, nicely seasoned, and the raw fish was fresh and delicious. Ilpum, a sushi restaurant by National Assembly Station.

Each piece was thick enough to really taste the fish. Not fishy at all, clean and delicious overall — that was today's sushi at Ilpum 🍣

Additional sushi we got from the pregnancy-support benefit. We chose eel, flounder fin, and sea bream, and the extra sushi was also amazing 🍣 We really got to eat until we were stuffed..

Cold udon with karaage and mango pudding

While we were eating sushi, out came a cold udon with karaage in it. The bonito flavor was so refreshing, like digestive medicine. I wondered what the karaage would taste like soaked in the udon broth, but it was soft and delicious! The amount of noodles was just right to eat alongside the sushi, so we ended up filling up completely!

And then dessert came too, at Ilpum — such a generous sushi restaurant in Yeouido! It's called mango pudding, and it wasn't too sweet, with plenty of mango flavor, so I scraped up every last bit, hahaha.

Is Ilpum Yeouido Branch good for group meals and dates?

With so much sushi and so many side dishes provided, we really left feeling stuffed — that's Ilpum, this restaurant by National Assembly Station. The staff were kind and the place was clean, so we had a great time eating delicious food with friends after a long while!
