A sushi spot worth knowing in Yeouido: Ilpum Yeouido Branch. Before a date with the baby at Yeouido Han River Park, I stopped by Ilpum for lunch. It's close to National Assembly Station, so it's a great spot to grab sushi or kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) in Yeouido before heading over to the park.

Inside the basement dining room, and eating with a baby
The restaurant is on the basement floor, but it doesn't feel cramped — once inside, it had a clean, modern atmosphere.
It was lunchtime and busy, with a good mix of seating from single bar seats to 4-person tables,
so it seemed to work for everything from solo dining to family meals to group gatherings.
The calm, tidy vibe also felt like a good fit for a Yeouido date or a blind date spot.
I visited with my baby, and the staff had a baby chair ready right away and were really kind about it. ☺️
How to order at Ilpum, and what we ordered that day
You can order easily via QR code at the table,
and water, utensils, chopsticks, soy sauce, and wet wipes were all set out at the table already, which was convenient.
Kaisendon is Ilpum's signature dish, and there's a wide variety of menu items to choose from.

Chawanmushi, cold udon and mango panna cotta
Before the main dishes, everyone gets clear broth, white kimchi, and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) first.
The egg custard was springy yet soft, with shrimp and ginkgo nuts inside for good texture. Light and mild, it made a nice starter before the meal.
Midway through came cold udon, and
for dessert, mango panna cotta! The soft pudding with sweet mango flavor made for a clean finish to the meal.
What comes in the today's sushi set?
The composition of today's sushi may vary a bit depending on when you visit.
It came out neatly arranged with shrimp, salmon, tuna, sea bream, flounder, egg, and maguro maki (tuna roll), among others.
The rice portions were just right for one bite each, and
the aged sashimi was tender with great umami — I enjoyed each piece.
There was also a generous futomaki (thick sushi roll) that came with the set, filled with salmon, tuna, cucumber, and crispy fried shrimp — really good. I actually wanted to try the futomaki as a standalone order too, haha.

A generous variety of fresh seafood was piled on top of the rice, so I could try several kinds of sashimi at once.
The sashimi was soft and moist with a subtle umami, and
eating it together with the rice let the flavor of the seafood really come through.
If you want to taste a little bit of many kinds of fish, the kaisendon is a good pick.
Crab cream croquette, the side we added
The crab cream croquette had a crispy fried outside with a moist, soft crab cream filling inside!
Savory and creamy with the crab's umami layered in, it was a great side to pair with the meal.

💛 ❣️Final thoughts❣️💛 Clean, upscale atmosphere and a solid menu lineup made for a satisfying visit to Ilpum Yeouido Branch. Having a baby chair ready made it easy to visit with a baby, and the pleasant atmosphere also seemed like a good fit for a Yeouido date, blind date, or family meal.
If you're near National Assembly Station looking for sushi or kaisendon, it's worth a visit. After lunch we headed straight to Yeouido Han River Park for a nice afternoon out with the baby. 😊
