Songjeong café with bar seats facing the beach train: Suwolgyeonghwa

In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is a four-story hanok-style ocean-view café in Songjeong, Haeundae-gu, Busan, a 1-minute walk from Songjeong Beach. From a bar seat on the 3rd floor, I watched the Blueline Park beach train pass head-on while enjoying the Dalbodre Box, Lemon Sunset tea and Gabae-ore. For a day when you want the sea and the train in one frame, nothing beats Suwolgyeonghwa.

From the moment you step through the door, you go "whoa, what is this vibe!!!" Let me start the review right away.

Where Suwolgyeonghwa is and how to get there

Suwolgyeonghwa is a Busan ocean-view café just a 1-minute walk, about 50m, from Songjeong Beach. Whether you come by bus, subway, or beach train, it's easy to find.

Even from far away the building's clean, calm exterior catches your eye.

Now that we've parked, shall we go in??

Take the stairs on the right side of the building and ta-da! The entrance alone is different from the start. Walk through the 3rd and 4th floors, pick the seat you like! Grab a seat first, then go order.

While waiting for drinks and dessert, snapped a photo of my niece/nephew too ✌️

Also showed off my drawing skills (๑♥‿♥๑) and browsed the premium teas they sell too.

When does the beach train pass the café?

The highlight of the 3rd-floor bar seat at Suwolgyeonghwa is the beach train photo time♡ Check the direction and timing the train comes from.

Dalbodre Box, Lemon Sunset tea and Gabae-ore

Finally, my order arrived. Dalbodre Box, Lemon Sunset, Gabae-ore. The Dalbodre Box, Suwolgyeonghwa's signature, is something I end up ordering every time I visit.

Suwolgyeonghwa's signature Dalbodre Box

As pretty and softly sweet as the moon itself — the 'Dalbodre Box' — almost too pretty to eat. Injeolmi (rice cake) skewer, black rice sulbbang, ganache monaka, whole red bean butter monaka, gamtae myeongnan financier. True to its name, it came out neatly and beautifully arranged.

It paired really well with the refreshingly sweet-tart Lemon Sunset tea we also ordered. And the Gabae-ore♡ This place's coffee is really rich and delicious too.

Hanok interiors, ocean views and floor seating

True to its name, meaning 'moon reflected in water, flower reflected in a mirror,' Suwolgyeonghwa combines a serene hanok atmosphere with a refreshing sea view. The reason I always end up at Suwolgyeonghwa whenever I come to Songjeong is the ocean view.

Sitting at the bar, you can watch the Blueline Park beach train pass right in front of you — it's so good.

A few days ago I sat in the sun-drenched floor seating and had coffee while chatting with a friend.

The 4th-floor window seats are the best spot, but even though I've come many times, I've never once managed to sit there. Through the huge picture windows, the refreshing Songjeong sea is pure healing no matter how many times you look at it.

Why Suwolgyeonghwa is worth the trip to Songjeong

  • Panoramic ocean view with a direct beach train sighting
  • A serene, healing space with hanok vibes
  • Dessert sets and various leaf teas pleasing to both eyes and palate
  • A 'life shot' from any angle

The weather was so nice it felt like a waste to just leave, so I dipped my feet in the Songjeong sea and played around. People surfing, foreigners tanning, college students playing beach ball — everyone looked so happy.

The gently rippling Songjeong sea, the beach train passing by outside the window, and the leisure of a cup of tea. On a day you want to share a full sense of ease with someone, why not stop by Suwolgyeonghwa?
