Haeundae glasses shop, photochromic lenses by courier: Second Face

In short

Second Face Sinsigaji Branch is a house-brand glasses shop on Jwadong-sunhwan-ro in Haeundae, Busan, where Lindberg, Kaneko Optical, Kamemannen and Anne et Valentin Forever frames sit side by side. On this visit I tried on several frames, had a full eye exam and a lens consultation, then ordered photochromic lenses for my mom's new glasses. The finished glasses arrived by courier with no second trip to the store, which made the whole process feel clean and simple.

From Lindberg to Gold Optical to Kame Mannen! All the Busan house brands in one spot 👓✨

Today's post is about getting glasses made after a long while — this time I visited Second Face Sinsigaji Branch. I wear glasses pretty often, so I stopped by thinking I might get a new pair, and honestly there were way more brands than I expected, so just browsing frames was fun. The one I was most interested in that day was Lindberg.

Once inside, I noticed the Lindberg pieces were displayed separately on one side. There were more styles than I expected — thin, light frames, round shapes, near-square designs. Glasses that looked similar in photos actually felt quite different once I tried them on, so I ended up trying on one after another. Lindberg frames overall have this clean, no-fuss look, so if you like that style, they're worth a closer look. Naturally, I spent the most time browsing the Lindberg section that day 👀

From Kaneko Optical to Kamemannen frames 👓🕶🥽

It wasn't just Lindberg. Heading further into Second Face Sinsigaji Branch, there were frames from Gold Optical, Kame Mannen, Anne et Valentin Forever, and other brands on display. If you've been looking into Busan Kame Mannen, there were quite a few pieces worth checking out in person, and each frame had a different mood, which made browsing fun. Busan Gold Optical caught my eye with its classic yet clean design, and Busan Anne et Valentin Forever had a distinct personality all its own compared to the others. Every brand had its own design feel, so honestly you could lose track of time just browsing. Still, my eyes kept drifting back to Busan Lindberg haha

How thorough is the eye exam at Second Face?

It wasn't just frame browsing — I also got an eye exam. As shown in the photos, they had proper testing equipment set up, and I sat through the exam step by step. I mentioned the issues I usually have with my glasses, we checked my vision, and then went straight into a lens consultation. When getting new glasses, you shouldn't just pick a design — the lenses need to fit your lifestyle too, so I made sure to go over this step carefully.

Why I chose photochromic lenses for my mom's glasses

Frame chosen for the photochromic transition lenses

This time, the glasses my mom got were photochromic transition lenses. She wears glasses regularly, but on bright sunny days she also needs sunglasses, and carrying both separately was a bit of a hassle. So this time we went with transition lenses instead. She picked the frame after trying on several in the store, and once we decided on the lenses too, we placed the order. She chose her frame after trying it on in person, and once the order was placed, I found myself oddly looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Can you get your glasses delivered by courier? 📦

This time, instead of picking the glasses up in person, we received them by courier once they were finished 📦 When the package arrived and I opened it up, it felt oddly nice seeing the same glasses we'd tried on in the store. The photochromic lenses in particular seemed like a great fit for my mom, who wears glasses all the time — clean and clear indoors, and the lenses darken outdoors. Trying on frames in person, getting the eye exam, having them made, and then receiving them by courier — the whole process felt neatly wrapped up.

Worth a trip if you love Lindberg frames

What struck me on this visit was how I went in thinking about one brand and ended up seeing several others too. I went mainly to check out Busan Lindberg, but I also got to browse Busan Kame Mannen, Gold Optical, and Anne et Valentin Forever at the same time. If you're looking into Haeundae Lindberg or Busan Lindberg, I'd definitely recommend trying on several frames in person rather than choosing from photos alone. Everyone's face shape and usual style is different, so the same glasses can feel quite different once you actually put them on.

Second Face Sinsigaji Branch: my overall verdict

Overall view of the eyewear display at Second Face Sinsigaji Branch
  • ✔️ Wide range of Busan Lindberg frames to browse
  • ✔️ Multiple brands from Busan Kame Mannen to Gold Optical
  • ✔️ Courier pickup available after order
  • ✔️ A place to see many brands beyond Lindberg in one visit

I went in planning to get just one pair of glasses and ended up browsing a bunch of brands 👓 I especially loved getting to try on Busan Lindberg pieces in person, and it was nice to slowly browse other brands I'd been curious about, like Busan Kame Mannen and Gold Optical. Worth a visit if you're getting house-brand glasses made!
