Eonyang café in Ulsan: blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll at MUG

Today I'm introducing MUG, famous for Eonyang café desserts and one of the biggest cafés in Ulsan!!

Where is MUG, and is there parking?

MUG is an Eonyang, Ulsan bakery café sitting below a quiet mountainside!! The address is 90 Hyangsandagae-ro, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan. It's close to the Amethyst Cave and not far from Ganwoljae Pass and the Taehwa River, so it's a great spot for a drive-and-outing combo!

There's a huge parking lot right in front of the store, so it's convenient by car~ good for moving around as a big family group too!!

It was cloudy the day I went, but the building looked amazing!! It rained a little, which gave it a really atmospheric, lovely feel~

True to the name MUG (which means 'ink' in Korean), the building is built from dark, ink-colored wood! Apparently the reason this café was built here is that the land was once damaged by a large wildfire, and the café was created to honor and remember that pain~

The café blends beautifully with the mountain scenery~!!

There's also a walking course beside the café building, so it's great for enjoying nature too~

Photo spots at MUG: the pond and mirror wall

The area in front of the café is also great for photos!! The wildflowers in front of the pond had bloomed so prettily~!!

The sky reflects in the pond, so the scenery is lovely and photos turn out great~!!

And if you walk along the side of the café, the building's side wall is a mirror, so this is another great spot for photos~ There are pretty wildflowers in front of the mirror too haha

How busy is MUG on a weekend afternoon?

Since it's famous for Eonyang café desserts, there were quite a lot of people when I went on a weekend afternoon~ But because the place is so big, seats opened up quickly!

What bread does MUG bake?

I quickly grabbed a seat and went off to pick out bread!! The menu had so much variety! As expected of MUG, the famous Eonyang, Ulsan bakery café!!

There's such a wide range of bread that it's easy to pick according to your taste~

And the famous blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll — luckily there were still plenty left!! haha Even though it's a big café, the bakery prices were reasonable too!

This tiramisu cinnamon roll looked delicious as well~

There was pizza, salt bread, and more too!!

My favorite, the turtle melon bread! haha So cute~ the owner must really like turtles

I ordered an onion bagel, a gorgonzola ciabatta, and one cinnamon roll!! haha

They said they use Lescure butter!! haha

MUG's viewpoint, walking trail and art exhibit

While waiting a bit, I looked around and found a viewpoint and walking trail behind the café, with people out for a stroll~

There's also an art exhibit at the café entrance and a spot where you can print photos, so it's a café with all kinds of things to enjoy haha

How the blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll and MUG lemon smoothie taste

The bread came out first!!

For the drink I ordered the MUG lemon smoothie, and out came this ink-black lemonade haha The cup is pretty and the design is so nice haha

The signature cinnamon roll!! It's piled high with blueberry jam and the cream cheese is thick and rich!! And the cinnamon roll inside is so delicious~~ The sweetness paired with the fragrant cinnamon smell is amazing, and with the cream cheese and blueberry added it's simply flawless haha

I ate the other breads after taking them home, and they were just as delicious as expected!! The drinks were tasty too, and the bakery items were all delicious at reasonable prices~~ It rained on the day I visited, and staring blankly out the window was just perfect! If the weather's nice, sitting at the outdoor tables would be completely healing haha With a viewpoint, walking trail, rest area, and even a metasequoia path~!! MUG is a café with so much to experience!
