Gangseo, Busan seafood restaurant with pork bone jjim: Haemullae

In short

Haemullae is a seafood restaurant in Gangseo, Busan, serving seafood and pork bone jjim together on a hot stone plate. I ordered the medium-spicy two-person set with fried squid, abalone, shrimp, squid, fried rice, and scorched rice. Verdict: Haemullae is a great pick when you want both seafood and meat in one meal.

Haemullae signature dish

My first seafood and pork bone jjim combination in Myeongji

I visited Haemullae, a great seafood spot in Myeongji~ There’s seafood, and pork bone jjim underneath it too! It was a dish I’d never tried before.

What are the parking and restaurant atmosphere like?

Haemullae exterior and parking information

You can park in the building’s underground garage. They support 2 hours, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed meal~

Clean interior of Haemullae

The restaurant is super clean. I think it would be great for a group dinner too~

We ordered the hot stone seafood pork bone jjim for 2 at ₩46,000 and fried rice for ₩3,000. I loved that it lets you enjoy fried squid, abalone, shrimp, squid, and pork bone jjim all together~ We chose medium spicy for the pork bone jjim. It was nicely spicy and delicious. Even when you’re full, you know you have to add fried rice at the end, right?!

How to eat hot stone seafood pork bone jjim

There’s even a guide for the best way to eat it. They also have a review event, with ice cream included! It seems perfect as a dessert after finishing everything.

Side dishes and sauces before the main dish

Included sauces and wasabi sauce

These are the sauces that come with the meal~ The special wasabi sauce suited it best for me! Wasabi sauce and seafood—what more is there to say~ There was also a special bang-a herb sauce.

Fried tofu rice pockets and side dishes

They also bring chives, corn salad, and yubu chobap (fried tofu rice pockets). The yubu chobap is great for filling up before the hot stone seafood pork bone jjim arrives, and it was so good since I hadn’t had it in ages~

Mashed potato side dish

They gave us mashed potatoes too. The side dishes before the main course were all so tasty~ They would make quick drinking snacks on their own. I had plans after dinner, so I couldn’t drink, but I think drinks would go down so easily with this haha.

Seafood and pork bone jjim in the hot stone plate

Hot stone seafood pork bone jjim table setting

The presentation is incredible, right? Since it comes on a hot stone plate, you can keep eating it warm~

Hot stone seafood pork bone jjim topped with fried squid

There are two pieces of fried squid on top. Underneath are bean sprouts, abalone, squid, and grilled pork bones~ This hot stone seafood pork bone jjim has an overwhelming look from the start!! It seems perfect for dinner and perfect as a drinking snack too!! I love bean sprouts, and their crunchy texture really makes it feel like haemul-jjim (braised seafood)~

What a striking presentation... It comes on a hot stone plate, so of course you can’t skip trying the fried rice later~ It’s an absolute must even if you’re full...

Whole squid in hot stone seafood pork bone jjim

There’s a whole squid in there too. They cut it into easy-to-eat pieces. It goes so well with the wasabi sauce. The squid was really tender too~~

Abalone in hot stone seafood pork bone jjim

There’s healthy abalone in it too. They cut the abalone into bite-size pieces as well~ Such a proper nourishing meal haha.

Shrimp in hot stone seafood pork bone jjim

There are shrimp too! There was more seafood than I expected. Anyone who loves seafood will definitely like this menu! But with pork bone jjim underneath, you can enjoy both meat and seafood, which is great.

Large piece of pork bone jjim meat

There were four pieces of pork bone jjim too. They were such big pieces! There was so much meat on them. I didn’t eat rice because I was saving room for the fried rice later, but then I immediately ordered a bowl of rice~~~

Pork bone jjim with meat on the bone

The meat was tender and had no unpleasant smell. There was so much meat attached to the bones that it just kept coming, no matter how much I ate~! Every table has disposable gloves, so I seriously put mine on and got to work on those bones! After eating away, it was finally time for fried rice.

Hot stone fried rice cooked by the owner

Hot stone fried rice preparation

They put the leftovers in a bowl, leave just this much behind, and the owner cooks the fried rice personally~ The seasoning is so good that I think anything stir-fried here would taste delicious haha.

Fried rice with kimchi and roasted seaweed flakes

They stir-fry it with kimchi and roasted seaweed flakes! Looking at it makes me want fried rice again. I should have added cheese... Everyone else, make sure to add cheese too.

Hot stone fried rice and scorched rice

They set a timer for 2 minutes, then you can eat it after 2 minutes. The owner also removes the nurungji (scorched rice) stuck to the hot stone plate for you! So thoughtful... Fried rice, what more is there to say~ The seasoning was a little spicy, so the fried rice was delicious too.

When we were nearly finished with the fried rice, the owner came over and removed the stuck-on nurungji so it would be easier to eat. The owner was so kind... haha. You know the crispy rice stuck to the pan is the best part of fried rice, right~? We cleaned every bit up and left feeling satisfyingly full. If you’re looking for great haemul-jjim in Myeongji, I recommend Haemullae.
