Dongnae sushi restaurant for a rainy-day meal: Moshi Moshi Sushi
In short
Moshi Moshi Sushi is a sushi restaurant on the 8th-floor dining level of Lotte Department Store in Dongnae, Busan. After a 20–30 minute weekday lunch wait, I had the ₩18,500 udon sushi set and the ₩27,500 flatfish and salmon sushi set. A filling, easy stop before shopping or a movie.

On a day off, I was happily walking toward Lotte Cinema in Dongnae thinking, “I’ll do a little shopping at Lotte Department Store and catch a movie~” ... and I’m not even kidding, within one second it felt like the sky had sprung a leak lol. The downpour was so scary that I couldn’t stick even one toe outside the department store... so I was forcibly trapped in the 8th-floor dining area.

Honestly, restaurants inside department stores... I’ll give them this: they’re clean. But for the price, the portions are often small, and it’s really hard to find one that makes you go, “Wow, this is insane!”

But I was starving, and craving sushi... so I thought, whatever, and headed straight to Moshi Moshi Sushi (모시모시 스시) Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch while looking around the 8th-floor dining area. And this is where the twist begins lol.
The atmosphere, with a weekday lunch wait

I had a good feeling the moment I walked in. Maybe because it’s in a department store, but it was definitely spotless! There are counter seats that are perfect for eating alone, open hall seating, and somewhat separated seats—not quite private rooms—so it’s nice for a family gathering too.
Even during the short time we ate, group after group kept coming in. For a weekday lunch, doesn’t that mean it’s already known as a great sushi spot in Dongnae? lol There is a wait, though. We waited 20–30 minutes even at weekday lunch.
The sushi set menus we ordered

I was so hungry that I ordered as soon as I sat down.
Our order
- Udon sushi set ₩18,500: 8 pieces of sushi + udon + vegetable salad + tofu salad
- White fish & salmon sushi ₩27,500: 5 flatfish sushi + 5 salmon sushi + 3 tempura + vegetable salad + tofu salad + soup

I went straight for the udon sushi set, which looked like the best value, and the can’t-go-wrong combo of 10 pieces of flatfish and salmon sushi plus 3 tempura!
The udon sushi set comes with a full-sized bowl of udon

The udon sushi set comes as one meal with 8 pieces of sushi, 3 tempura, udon, vegetable salad, and tofu salad.

Usually when you order a set, you get a sad little mini udon that’s gone in two bites. But here, bam! A big, proper meal-sized bowl of udon arrived lol. The noodles were springy and the broth was hot, so my rain-soaked, chilled body just melted away~~
The 8 pieces of sushi were salmon, white fish, shrimp, egg, flying fish roe, scallop, and spear squid. This was absolutely not sketchy sushi with lots of rice and thin fish! The rice had just the right chew, the fish was fresh, and the quality made me feel sorry for it only costing ₩18,500 lol.
The flatfish and salmon sushi set serves toppings separately

Next up was the 10-piece flatfish and salmon sushi plus 3 tempura set!

I’m seriously devoted to salmon, and the slices were nicely thick, so every bite was bursting with rich flavor ㅠㅠ The flatfish was pure bouncy, chewy goodness too...
And the part that impressed me most! Instead of automatically covering the salmon with onion, tartar sauce, and radish sprouts, they served them separately on the side!! Wow... aren’t these people geniuses?
I could dip it in that sharp wasabi soy sauce one moment, then pile on plenty of onion and tartar sauce for a richer bite the next—totally customizable however I wanted!

Then I wolfed down the crispy tempura that had just come out of the fryer, and honestly, I was just so happy lol.
A great sushi stop before shopping or a movie

Of course, it’s not something to compare with high-end omakase that costs tens of thousands of won per piece! But for dropping in without pressure and eating until you’re stuffed while shopping at Lotte Department Store or before a movie at Lotte Cinema Dongnae, this was genuinely perfect.
With salads, hot udon, and tempura all included, it even felt like being treated to a proper meal. Parking is easy, and it’s right in front of Myeongnyun Station, so the route couldn’t be better!

If you’re looking for a clean, reliable sushi restaurant around Dongnae, I recommend giving Moshi Moshi Sushi (모시모시 스시) Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch a try!
