A nail salon that was great for stopping by after work in Hongdae

I’d gone almost a whole year without getting my nails done.. haha. Once you start, manicures can become a regular thing, so yes, the cost can add up. But Byuazeu Hongdae starts its monthly art designs at ₩49,000, so it’s a great-value nail salon ✨ I heard the reviews are good across the board for wear time and value.

I visited after work. They’re open until 9 PM, so for Hongdae office workers like me, I recommend going after work instead of giving up time on your day off haha. It’s a five-minute walk from Exit 9 of Hongik University Station. Since it was Friday, it was definitely crowded though~ㅠㅠ

These days it’s pitch-dark by 7 PM. I liked that Byuazeu isn’t tucked away in a maze of complicated alleys. There’s no dedicated parking lot, but the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Mapo Lifelong Learning Center is the closest parking option. If it’s full, you’ll need to use a nearby public lot or Hongdae parking. It might be more convenient to buy a discounted parking pass through the Modu Parking app first, right?!

Since it’s September, there were designs that really felt like autumn, and my eyes naturally went to the warm tones. Color changes are free too, so you can make it your own with the color you want~!!

Cuticle care for a short round shape

First, I had to decide on a nail shape. I’m the type who can’t grow my nails out, so I had them cut as short as possible and chose a round shape. I loved that the technician just knew how to make them neat and stylish 👍👍👍 While making small talk, we found out we’re neighborhood neighbors, which was so surprising and nice haha hahaha.

No matter how much I try to care for my cuticles at home, I really can’t match a nail salon’s skill ㅠ Just from the care alone, my nails looked that pretty... The technician was so fast, and since my right hand was rougher than my left, she cared for it even more meticulously!!!

I didn’t need soak-off removal, so it was finished in an hour. I wanted this warm nude-toned feel, and with just a subtle glitter sticker accent, it looks almost like I have nothing on—yet isn’t it so pretty... It became incredibly polished 💅

It has the soft look unique to syrup nails (a sheer, jelly-like gel manicure), and it’s wonderfully feminine too.

It’s a slightly grayish beige... the color is so intriguingly subtle, you know? It’s so pretty and I love it. It feels like the perfect color for autumn.

Getting nail art again after so long was such a mood refresh, and really, when your nails are neat, you somehow look different overall... haha. I should start taking better care of them now! 😅 They were kind, quick, and meticulous, so I’m looking forward to seeing how well these hold up too.
