A Guraedong, Gimpo restaurant worth knowing: Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch

While looking for good food in Guraedong, Gimpo, I visited Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch, known as one of the best places for pork galbi (marinated short ribs) in Gimpo. Here's my review of the sweet-savory marinated pork galbi, the neat basic banchan, self-serve bar, private seating, playroom, and even a trampoline.

Where is Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch?
It's located at 40 Gimpohangang 8-ro, Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor.
Inside the restaurant: 150 seats, rooms and a playroom

Right from the entrance there's a wide grass yard and a terrace. Near the entrance there's a claw machine, a coffee machine, and even bead ice cream, which looked great for dessert after the meal!

The interior stood out for its size — over 150 seats — with generous spacing between tables so eating never felt cramped. Disposable aprons and high chairs are also available!
There are also private rooms suited to work dinners, family gatherings, and group meetups of all kinds. The place itself is so spacious that you can enjoy a comfortable meal in your own separate space.
The playroom is equipped with arcade games, a claw machine, and picture books.
What's on the self-serve bar?

There's a self-serve bar where you can freely grab any extra banchan you need — really convenient.
Everything was kept under lids, which looked hygienic, and there were vegetables, kimchi, garlic, and ssamjang — the vegetables looked fresh too.
The menu and what we ordered

Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch has a wide range of dishes to grill over charcoal — from a beef mixed platter to raw flower galbi, idong galbi, beef galbi meat, whole grilled squid in sauce, and pork galbi, so you can enjoy everything from beef to pork galbi in one place. We ordered 3 servings of pork galbi, plus beef sprout bibimbap and cold noodles for dessert :)
The banchan that come with the galbi

The basic banchan included japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned crab, kimchi, salad, geotjeori (fresh kimchi), pickled onion and perilla leaves, wrap greens, ssamjang, and garlic. Anything extra was available at the self-serve bar.
How was the Jeongwon pork galbi, 3 servings?

The 3 servings of pork galbi came out right away, and the ribs had dense scoring cuts that let the marinade soak all the way through — looked so appetizing!!
They laid the tempting pork galbi over the charcoal and grilled it beautifully for us... haha. The pork galbi was tender, the meat quality was clearly good.

The pork galbi, grilled to a nice golden brown over the charcoal, had a marinade that was sweet but not too much, along with a rich, savory flavor — really delicious! What I especially liked was that the marinade wasn't harsh at all — the sweet and salty balance was just right, so I enjoyed it a lot.
With the subtle charcoal aroma added in, the pork galbi was truly tender with no dryness at all, and the marinade soaking all the way through was the best part...!

Wrapped with the various banchan like wrap greens, geotjeori, pickled onion, and ssamjang, it never got repetitive and I could enjoy the galbi deliciously all the way through haha. The wrap greens were fresh and in great condition.
Korean beef sprout bibimbap

Packed with fresh sprout vegetables, the beef sprout bibimbap was an addictive combination of beef, sprouts, and a special sauce. The soft, savory beef paired with the fresh sprouts brought together nuttiness and freshness, and eating it alongside the meat made for a really filling meal.
Cold buckwheat noodles to finish
To close out the meal, the cold noodles arrived. The cool, tangy broth and chewy noodles were a clean way to wrap things up after all the meat, and adding a piece of pork galbi on top was also a satisfying, clean finish.
