Inside Daehwa Sutbul Garden: the room and the self-serve side dish bar
Walking into Daehwa Sutbul Garden, it was more spacious than I expected. There was decent room between tables, and each table has its own charcoal grill for cooking the meat, so it really felt like a proper meat-eating outing.
If you reserve ahead, the side dishes are all set up and ready. They include things like pickled vegetables and kimchi that pair well with meat, along with potato salad and seaweed soup. Especially while eating the meat, pairing it with crisp, refreshing sides like pickled cucumber stems or young radish kimchi cleaned up my palate nicely.

If you run out of any side dish, you can grab more yourself from the self-serve bar. There's wasabi, and that chili sauce underneath the wasabi? It went really well with the meat, with a nice kick!

What comes in the 500g Gyeongju-style marinated beef rib set for 59,000 won
What I ordered was the Gyeongju-style marinated beef rib set, a full platter of 500g (₩59,000). Daehwa Sutbul Garden had a wide range — from budget-friendly set menus to à la carte dishes, and side dishes like fried rice, sea urchin, sweet shrimp, and stew.
One set alone came surprisingly packed. Centered on the marinated beef ribs, it also came with chicken gizzard meat and sausage, kalguksu noodles as the meal, and ice cream at the end — so I didn't need to add a bunch of extra side dishes.

What I was most looking forward to was, of course, the marinated beef ribs! When they first arrived, the garlic marinade was so well soaked in between the layers of meat that I wanted to throw them on the charcoal right away, hahaha.

Ooh, once the meat hit the charcoal, the marinade sizzled and a sweet aroma rose up.

How does the Gyeongju-style marinade taste?
The meat had a decent thickness, so grilled it had a nice chew, and the marinade had a salty-sweet style that hit exactly my taste. It wasn't just sweet — there was a savory saltiness alongside it that brought out the flavor of the meat itself too!

Even with just a dab of wasabi, the nutty flavor of the meat came alive, and piled on rice it was gone in no time haha! Especially when the marinade got slightly charred on the surface from the charcoal grill, it added a sweetness plus that smoky flavor that made it even more delicious~

Chicken gizzard meat and sausage included with the set
Sausage and chicken gizzard meat also came out, so I grilled those up too. It was my first time trying gizzard meat, and it was much tastier than I expected. At first I imagined it would be soft like regular chicken meat, but eating it, it was much chewier and springier in texture than regular chicken.
It had this texture that kept stretching chewily the more you chewed, offering a different kind of fun from the beef ribs. As for the sausage, grilling it until the outside got slightly crispy made the skin pop, releasing a salty, savory flavor inside. It wasn't a cheap-style sausage — I think kids would like it too :)

Kalguksu noodles to finish and ice cream for dessert
After eating a good amount of meat, the kalguksu noodles arrived right on time. The noodles had zucchini and onion in them, and I paired them with kimchi — really delicious. After the meat, having warm broth and noodles made the meal feel cleanly wrapped up.
And finally, ice cream for dessert! After the marinated beef ribs and kalguksu, you start craving something cool and sweet, and here you don't need to go to another café — it's all handled in one restaurant~ The vanilla ice cream came topped with red beans and cereal like a bingsu (shaved ice dessert), giving it a proper dessert-café feel bb

It was a delicious meal-!
Who is Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok best for?
The Gyeongju-style marinated beef ribs have such a well-soaked salty-sweet marinade that they're delicious on their own, and with the chicken gizzard meat, sausage, and finally kalguksu and ice cream on top, it made for a really satisfying meal. If you're looking for a place for a family meal out, or going with a group for a work dinner, the variety of the set should satisfy everyone. If you want to enjoy meat, a meal, and dessert all in one visit, check out Daehwa Sutbul Garden, a favorite in Janggok-dong, Siheung~
