Pork BBQ half-plate with free gamjatang at Siheung's Gongdan Gamjatang
In short
Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Siheung Main Branch is a 38-year-old pork BBQ and gamjatang (pork bone soup) restaurant in Jangok-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi. The writer ordered the mixed pork half-plate (400g) with rice-topped jeyuk and Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon, and since ordering half a plate of meat or more comes with a free gamjatang, the meal was seriously filling. If you're after great value and old-school charm, this place delivers.

A 38-year-old institution in Siheung's Jangok-dong: Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Siheung Main Branch

The first place that comes to mind when someone says Jangok-dong, Siheung! I visited Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Siheung Main Branch, a 38-year-old spot that literally built its own building on the strength of its gamjatang (pork bone soup). You can park in front of the building, and if it's full, there's a public parking lot right across the street (₩1,000 per hour).

Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal is a place where ordering meat gets you a free gamjatang on the side — talk about incredible value ,, ✨ It's delicious, generous in portion, affordable, and full of old-school charm, so it's packed with people from lunch straight through dinner. A genuine Siheung favorite.
What's the atmosphere inside like?

The moment I stepped inside, I got that 'this place is good' feeling 🚨 You can feel the years everywhere in the space, but it's clean and had such a comfortable vibe, which made it even better.
The menu board and what we ordered

There's a whole range of dishes — grilled meats, gamjatang, naengmyeon (cold noodles), pork cutlet, and more. To eat well, we ordered the restaurant's signature mixed pork half-plate (400g), rice-topped jeyuk, and Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon. The gamjatang set meal, a popular lunch pick, lets you enjoy gamjatang, pork cutlet, and jeyuk all at once — basically a collection of guys' soul food!
Mixed pork half-plate (400g)

At Gongdan Gamjatang in Jangok-dong, Siheung, ordering half a plate of meat or more gets you a free gamjatang, so this is a must-visit if you're looking for a filling, great-value spot in Siheung.
₩3,000 rice-topped jeyuk
Thick cuts of meat plus kimchi and tofu mean you'll polish off a bowl of rice in no time — the portion for just ₩3,000 was unbelievable, and the combo of sweet stir-fried kimchi with the meat was speechless-good 🥹
The free gamjatang that comes with your meat order

The free gamjatang's generous portion was jaw-dropping, and I was surprised all over again by the depth of flavor the moment I took a sip of the broth,

While eating away without thinking, I happened to spot a note on the wall saying they start preparing at 6am for a consistently good flavor, put real care into it — and I found myself nodding along ,, 👍 Meanwhile, is this amount of meat in the gamjatang even real haha

How to enjoy Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal the best way
- Put the meat on the grill when you hear the fat starting to sizzle
- Once the fat renders out, add the aged kimchi and aged kimchi-doenjang stir-fry
- Once the meat browns nicely, dip the first bite in salt
- The tastiest way to eat it is to place meat on baby cabbage or lettuce, topped with bossam kimchi and spicy oyster ssamjang
- After finishing the gamjatang, wrap it up with added noodles or fried rice
One thing that made it clear this restaurant is run by the building owner is the top-quality ingredients — you could tell just by looking at the color of the meat. When you notice the care put into every single side dish, it makes sense why this Jangok-dong, Siheung favorite still draws lines after all these years!
How spicy is the Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon?

If you love spicy food, this is one you have to conquer 🚨 Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon 🚨 Made with a special sauce packed with chili flakes and loads of cheongyang chili, it's a deliciously spicy naengmyeon (cold noodles), and pouring the icy broth that comes with it over the noodles can blast away all your accumulated stress.

True to its name, Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon delivers a spice you won't forget — it's genuinely brutally spicy but keeps pulling you back for more, so if you're proud of your spice tolerance, give it a try haha!!!

The salted oyster side, a rice thief even on its own, piled generously on a cabbage wrap is basically a knockout,
It's also great alongside kimchi grilled in the meat's fat — wrap it all together with everything else and the combo with the side dishes fills your mouth with happiness!

Soothe the fiery aftermath of the Motijeo Bulnaengmyeon with a sweet ice cream 💦 If you're looking for a great spot in Jangok-dong, Siheung, I recommend Gongdan Gamjatang Samgyeopsal, a 38-year-old institution full of old-school charm! End of my mixed pork half-plate review :)
