Jeju Dongmun Market snack shop: Chuseok oranda gift set and bulk yuzu

If you go to Jeju, Dongmun Market is a must-visit stop! There are plenty of stalls run by longtime locals selling fruit and fish, but also a lot of shops run by young entrepreneurs bustling with energy — just walking around here recharges you.

This time I visited Cheongchuni Oranda, a shop started by a group of young Jeju locals. From fragrant yuzu oranda to a four-flavor set perfect for gifting, this was exactly the kind of shop I wanted for Dongmun Market souvenirs 🥰

Where is Cheongchuni Oranda in Dongmun Market, and when is it open?

I parked at Dongmun public parking and walked in through gate 2 of Dongmun Market, and it wasn't hard to find. Oranda used to be a really hard cracker, honestly a dessert I never paid much attention to, but I heard Cheongchuni Oranda's version is soft, so I decided to trust that and check it out.

Word must have gotten around, because customers kept coming and coming ☝️ Business is good, and I think it's not just the taste of the oranda and gwajul — the staff's friendly attitude of letting you sample everything before choosing plays a big part too. Genuinely, genuinely kind...!

Cheongchuni Oranda flavors and prices: square, bulk and donut oranda

Cheongchuni Oranda's main products are oranda in four flavors: fragrant yuzu oranda, nut oranda with pumpkin seeds and almonds, gamtae (seaweed) oranda with a sweet-salty balance, and manong (garlic) oranda, which you can only get here.

There's also an adorable donut oranda! The one in the photo is a display model — since the real ones are topped with chocolate and fruit, they seemed to be displayed separately in the fridge case.

What do the four gwajul flavors taste like?

Another main product at Cheongchuni Oranda is gwajul (fried rice snack) — a traditional snack made by deep-frying wheat or glutinous rice dough, coating it in jocheong (rice syrup) or honey, and pressing on puffed grains.

There are a lot of Jeju souvenir shops selling gwajul these days, but Cheongchuni Oranda had four flavors ready — white rice, brown rice, buckwheat, and steamed rice gwajul — all set out for sampling. All four flavors were crispy, nutty, and clean-tasting 😊 Not too sweet, which I loved!

So I was tempted to buy some gwajul too

But once I tried Cheongchuni Oranda's yuzu flavor, there was no way I wasn't buying it. It doesn't stick to your teeth, and the sweetness is just right. Since I visited ahead of Chuseok, I ended up buying one gift set plus bulk yuzu oranda to eat while traveling!

Cheongchuni Oranda's gift set is packed tight with all four flavors — yuzu, nut, gamtae, and manong.

It's perfect as a Chuseok gift or a snack for family, and each individually wrapped piece has a printed expiration date, which makes it easy to trust. The gamtae oranda has the shortest shelf life, while the staff said the others keep well for about a month!

Why yuzu is the oranda flavor to buy at Cheongchuni Oranda

And the one I really recommend trying is the yuzu oranda 🍊 The round cracker part is genuinely soft, and while oranda is usually flavored with jocheong (or corn syrup), here they add yuzu citron syrup instead, which makes it wonderfully different. The nutty cracker pairs so well with the fragrant yuzu syrup that I just kept eating and eating... 🤣
