Today's a bar visit near Gangnam Station after a while~ Getting from work to Gangnam, why are there so many people^^... People who live in Seoul are seriously something~ Anyway even though it was a weekday, every bar around Gangnam Station was packed, so I booked ahead and went to Izakaya Goko!

How to book a table at Izakaya Goko Gangnam Sinnonhyeon Branch
Izakaya Goko has a Seolleung branch and a Gangnam Sinnonhyeon branch, and I went to the latter. You can join the waitlist through Catch Table, so I'd recommend registering ahead of time!
When I visited it was a weekday but the place was already full, so I imagine weekends require waiting for sure ㅠ
Inside Izakaya Goko: bar counter, private seats and window seats
Izakaya Goko near Gangnam Station has more tables than I expected! There's a bar table that's great for dates, and there are somewhat private seats further inside too, which I bet are popular haha

We sat by the window, and since the weather was nice the window was actually open? Even better..... Eating with the cool breeze made everything taste even better >ㅁ< The atmosphere was so good
What's on the menu at Izakaya Goko
Fitting for an izakaya near Gangnam Station, there were plenty of Japanese dishes like yakitori, sukiyaki, and sashimi! But the pasta looked delicious too... chu-beolp, and in the end we ordered five whole dishes^..^

Goko sashimi and 7-piece yakitori set, 65,000 won
Goko sashimi + Goko 7-piece yakitori set, 65,000 won. The sashimi comes in a really wide variety and it's aged sashimi so it was nice and soft! Amberjack, abalone, sweet shrimp, salmon, olive flounder and more — sometimes izakayas serve sashimi that isn't so fresh, but Izakaya Goko's sashimi was fresh and delicious.

The 7-piece yakitori was really tasty too! Chicken neck meat, chicken thigh, chicken wings, pork belly and more — anyone who likes yakitori is bound to love this. Eating it with the cabbage piled underneath is such a great combo haha

Ikageso (fried squid legs), 15,000 won
Ikageso (fried squid legs), 15,000 won. I added this because I felt a bit unsatisfied partway through! Ikageso is a fried squid leg dish. It comes with fried squid and fried shishito peppers together, and both were crispy and delicious!
Eating it with the sauce in the middle and cheongyang chili peppers — so good... I even asked for a sauce refill haha I'm not usually big on fried food but this was pretty tasty!!
Top pick: Goko sukiyaki, 33,000 won
Goko sukiyaki, 33,000 won. If I had to pick my one favorite dish at Izakaya Goko, it'd be the goko sukiyaki... A sweetish broth with tofu, meat, mushrooms and vegetables in it, so it was great to pick and choose what to eat. Above all, the broth is the real deal...
It's a bit on the sweet side though, so people who don't like sweet food might have mixed feelings about it (I personally love it ^^)

They also give you an egg to dip things in, and the piping hot broth was so good! The tofu was plump and soft too, and the meat and mushrooms were super fresh ingredients — a dish I'd definitely recommend haha

Switching from draft beer to zero-alcohol beer partway through (sorry, friends)

White ragu pasta, 21,000 won
White ragu pasta, 21,000 won. Another dish we added at the end because we still weren't satisfied ㅋㅋㅋ But wow, this pasta was seriously good ㅋ Was this place secretly a pasta spot too~~~ It tasted and looked like something from a famous pasta restaurant.
Since it's a cream ragu it could be a little rich, but eating it with drinks made it even better.... And they gave a really generous amount of ragu sauce, so we piled it on bread too and used every last bit of sauce to the end!!! I bet their other pasta dishes are good too.

Is Izakaya Goko worth a Gangnam night out?
All five dishes were delicious at Izakaya Goko, the bar near Gangnam Station! Seeing it packed even on a weekday, it's clearly already a well-known izakaya near Gangnam Station! Right now while the weather's nice, go grab a window seat and enjoy the gentle breeze with some delicious izakaya snacks haha Recommended bar near Gangnam Station!!
