Songdo bakery at 7 p.m. after work: first cucumber baguette, Tomoru
In short
Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a bakery in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, near Central Park and Haedoji Park, run by a Korean certified Master Baker. On a weekday around 7 p.m. after work, the writer bought a cucumber baguette (6,000 won, a first try), a pizza-bread-like pollack roe and scallion baguette (5,000 won), kkamang-i, basil tomato bread and garlic baguette slices at 500 won each, and enjoyed every one. Plenty of bread was still left that late, making Tomoru Bakery a good after-work bread stop in Songdo.

What kind of bakery is Tomoru Bakery in Songdo?
Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a bakery on Haedoji-ro 120beon-gil in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, run by a Korean Master Baker (대한민국 제과기능장). This is my review of a weekday evening when I ran over after work to recharge on bread.
It's close to Songdo Central Park and Haedoji Park, so it's also a handy place to grab bread before a park picnic. Since it's run by a Master Baker, I felt I could trust the quality.

Is there still bread left at 7 p.m.?
I got to Tomoru Bakery around 7 p.m. on a weekday, and there was more variety left than I expected, so I could browse at leisure. There are a few tables on the outdoor terrace and one table inside.
Now for the real bread hunt! Since it was around 7 p.m., I'd worried there wouldn't be much left, so this was a relief.
The refrigerated showcase had cream breads, castella and sandwiches. The bagel sandwich in particular looked so good that it caught my eye. I didn't buy it this time, but I'll definitely try it next visit, haha.

So many tempting breads, right,,

The nostalgic red bean bun (danpatppang) was carefully wrapped too.

My love, everyone's love: the salt bread was neatly lined up too. Seeing the salt breads lying side by side was so cute that I couldn't help picking some up, haha.

The cucumber baguette is supposedly especially famous at Tomoru Bakery! I came late and worried it might be sold out, but luckily it was still there, so I grabbed one right away.
Can you buy gift baked goods and cakes at Tomoru Bakery?
Tomoru Bakery has bread gift boxes, cookie gift boxes and even fruit cakes, so it works for gifts too. They also sold butter tteok (butter rice cake), which was a trend for a while, and the baked sweets I love, madeleines, financiers and cookies, filled the shelves in lots of varieties. With the bread gift box, it seemed like a good place to buy bread as a present.

There were also various rusks, cookies and cookie gift boxes, so it was nice to browse for gifts :)
Tomoru Bakery had plenty of cakes too! Lots of them were topped with fruit like strawberries, Shine Muscat grapes and mango.

Alongside the cakes, they also sell cute candles, party cone hats and toppers.
How much is the coffee at Tomoru Bakery?
Tomoru Bakery sells drinks as well as bread, and an Americano is ₩3,500. The price is fair, so it's nice for grabbing a coffee while you pick up bread.

On top of that, if you join the Naver photo review event, they give you an Americano or an iced tea, so if you're buying bread, give the review event a try!

I also bought a whole armful of the breads I wanted at Tomoru Bakery 〰️🙌

How did the breads I bought at Tomoru Bakery taste?
Kkamang-i (₩5,800)
Kkamang-i is a squid ink bread with cream cheese and walnut topping. The cream cheese inside the black bread reminded me of a chewy rice cake in both look and texture. With the sweet, nutty walnut topping on top, I got to enjoy both the savory flavor and the texture!

Basil tomato (₩5,800)
The basil tomato bread has basil, tomato, olives, camembert cheese and mayonnaise. It's packed with everything I love, so I couldn't not buy it. From the first bite the basil aroma spreads gently, and I loved biting into the tomatoes, which are tangy and rich like sun-dried tomatoes. The fragrant basil and fresh tomato went together well, and I enjoyed it.
Cucumber baguette (₩6,000), my first time trying one. Will it work?
Tomoru Bakery's cucumber baguette was a special treat: the crunch of cucumber plus the richness of cream cheese goes well with the baguette. It was the item I was looking forward to most today. I'd read reviews before visiting and people praised the cucumber baguette, so I really wanted to try it.
Honestly, this was my first cucumber baguette ever, and I wondered whether a slightly tough, firm baguette and crunchy, watery cucumber would really go together,, but after trying it, it's a total gem?! The crisp, fresh cucumber plus the soft, savory cream cheese went so well with the baguette. It has a charm different from familiar breads, and I understood why the reviews are good. If you want to try something different, it's worth having once.

Roe-scallion baguette (₩5,000)
Tomoru Bakery's roe-scallion baguette (myeongran daepa baguette) has pollock roe plus scallion, bacon, ham and cheese, so it feels like pizza bread. Honestly, looking at it I thought, is this really a roe baguette?! The roe baguette I know is the kind packed with just roe.
But one bite,, and it was so good. The distinctive aroma and texture of scallion blended well with the salty flavor of the roe, and with several ingredients inside, the taste felt even richer. It's a combination that's hard to find elsewhere, which made this bread even more appealing!
Garlic baguette, one slice (₩500)
Tomoru Bakery sells garlic baguette by the slice, so you can buy just as much as you want. Sometimes you crave a sweet, savory garlic baguette, right? But a whole bag can be too much, so I liked that you can buy slices. It's perfect for a light snack too.
Salt bread (₩2,400)
As you'd expect from Tomoru Bakery's best-seller, the salt bread was soft and full of butter aroma. If you like your salt bread crispy outside and moist inside, I recommend warming it briefly in an air fryer!

Pastry twisted doughnut (₩2,500)
Unlike a regular twisted doughnut (kkwabaegi), the pastry kkwabaegi is made with pastry dough, so the layers show. Maybe thanks to those layers, the texture felt different from a regular kkwabaegi. It was softer, and chewing along the layers was appealing.
Is Tomoru Bakery worth going back to?
I enjoyed all the bread I bought this time, so Tomoru Bakery is booked for a revisit. Especially the roe-scallion baguette, which had a different charm from other bakeries, and the cucumber baguette I tried for the first time are things I'd definitely buy again, haha. From salt bread to various meal breads, baked sweets and cakes, there's a wide variety to pick from to suit your taste. If you're looking for a bakery in Songdo, go to Tomoru Bakery! 🤗
