What comes with the 19,900 won lunch sashimi set for two?
I ordered the lunch special sashimi set (hoejeongsik, a Korean sashimi meal set) for two, at ₩19,900 per person. While browsing the menu, this set caught my eye for its generous composition.
By the way, the in-season Incheon salt-grilled shrimp is also very famous here. Watching the table next to me enjoy it, the shrimp looked plump and smelled savory, so I made a mental note to try it on my next visit!

A little while later, the sashimi set for two was laid out. Not just sashimi but sushi and spicy fish stew too, all arranged neatly and beautifully — I was completely satisfied. The sushi that came with it was also impressive, with the rice and the sashimi on top blending perfectly, rivaling a dedicated sushi restaurant.

The main event: thick-cut sashimi
The main sashimi was cut generously thick, so you could really feel the chewy texture — the freshness was excellent.

The sushi that came alongside was also impressive — the rice and the texture of the sashimi on top blended beautifully, rivaling a dedicated sushi restaurant.

The complimentary side dishes (sukidashi)
The sides served alongside were all clean and well-matched with the sashimi — a really satisfying combination.

I first dipped the thick sashimi lightly in soy sauce, and the chewiness and clean flavor that filled my mouth was so delicious. Both the vinegar-chili sauce and the soy-based sauce were great, so I alternated between them and ended up finishing all that sashimi and sushi in no time.

Finishing with the spicy fish stew included in the set
The meal ended with the spicy fish stew (maeuntang) included in the set. Taking a spoonful of the bubbling broth, the deep and refreshing spiciness gently settled my stomach — a perfect finish.

Self-serve bar, free kimchi pancakes and ice cream for dessert
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch has a self-serve bar for side dishes and sauces, and next to it a space where you can fry your own kimchi pancakes (kimchijeon) for free. For dessert, they even handed out ice cream.
I liked that if you ran low on side dishes or sauce during the meal, there was a self-serve bar so you could help yourself without feeling awkward.

On my way out, I noticed the free kimchi pancake corner right next to the salad bar. We were too full to try it this time.

Finishing the meal full and satisfied, right down to the fish stew, and leaving the place feeling clean was very satisfying. Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch was generous even with dessert, right down to the ice cream.
