After work, a date with my friend in Guwol-dong. Today I was really craving samgyeopsal (pork belly) + soybean paste stew, so we ran straight to Euljiro Charcoal Grill!

Euljiro Charcoal Grill Guwol Branch has more than just meat — seafood too! The menu was really varied. Samgyeop One Pan is 300g pork belly + 300g pork neck for ₩33,900, and Pork One Geun is a set letting you try pork belly, neck, hind leg, jowl, skirt, and skin for ₩38,900. Order whatever suits your taste!

What is the seating like at Euljiro Charcoal Grill?

As for seating, there were 10+ tables for four, and the spacing between them was wide, so it felt comfortable. Even though quite a few tables were filled during dinner time, I never felt crowded or noisy while chatting with my friend.

Seriously agonizing over what to eat. With so many options, it got even harder ,,,, samgyeopsal, scallops, grilled king shrimp, seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), seafood ramen, jjapaguri, soybean paste stew, bibimbap … the list of things I wanted was a mile long, but I held back. 忍忍

The meal menu was insane too. I expected soybean paste stew, naengmyeon, and ramen, but there was even bibimbap and kalguksu ,,,! Plus the ramen options included jjapaguri and buldak bokkeummyeon (spicy stir-fried noodles). (If I'd had one or two more friends, I would have ordered everything…)

What two people ordered: Pork One Geun, soybean paste stew and bibim naengmyeon

What we ordered was the best-selling 'pork one geun,' soybean paste stew, a bowl of rice, and bibim naengmyeon, and finally a Pepsi Zero 🥤 That was our order.

Side dishes and the self-serve wrap bar

The side dishes were pickled onions and seasoned lettuce, both chewy and delicious. They went so well with the pork belly. The bean sprouts, kimchi, and garlic were also great grilled. The combination of side dishes provided was top-notch 👍🏻👍🏻 The owner also gave us radish kimchi separately, perfect to eat with the meat. Piled it high into the wraps 🐷🐷

There's a self-serve bar in the center of the restaurant where you can refill any side dishes you run low on. Aprons are also there at the self-serve bar, so just help yourself!

Perilla leaves, lettuce, kimchi, bean sprouts, garlic, and all the sauces. I love eating wraps so much I diligently refilled bean sprouts, kimchi, garlic, and lettuce and perilla leaves 🙄💛

A fridge packed full of drinks and alcohol. The soft drink options were Coke, Sprite, Pepsi Zero, and Fanta Pineapple 👀

How does the charcoal-grilled pork belly taste?

So freaking good ㅠㅠ It just melts…

Soybean paste stew and bibim naengmyeon

The soybean paste stew and rice we ordered. The stew broth was rich and thick, the classic samgyeopsal-restaurant flavor. The tofu was so soft and silky, pairing perfectly with the rice 🫶🏻

And the bibim naengmyeon we added. It was just right when I put in half the broth and mixed. Mix it as soon as it arrives — I got distracted grilling meat and mixed it too late, so it didn't mix well and I struggled quite a bit 😂

Verdict: plenty of food for two at Euljiro Charcoal Grill Guwol Branch

The portions were huge and we left completely stuffed 🐷🐷 What we ordered should be plenty for two people. You can enjoy a variety of food, from meat to seafood, the seating is spacious and comfortable, and it's open until late at night. Euljiro Charcoal Grill is perfect for a fiery evening ❤️🔥🔥
