Grilled scallops and beef tteokbokki at Sinsa seafood pub Negi Silbi

In short

Negi Silbi Sinsa is a seasonal seafood pub a 7-minute walk from Exit 8 of Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two diners shared medium chal-domi raw sea bream sashimi for 52,000 won, grilled scallops for 28,000 won and beef brisket tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) for 32,000 won with a zero-sugar cola, eating in order from raw to grilled to spicy. Negi Silbi Sinsa is not a one-note sashimi house, so it works well for a group with different tastes.

Found a place worth checking out if you want a proper drink with good sashimi and seafood near Sinsa Station! This time I visited Negi Silbi Sinsa.

It's a Sinsa-dong pub centered on seasonal seafood, with a pretty varied menu from sea bream sashimi to grilled scallops and beef brisket tteokbokki — great for ordering a bit of everything :) It felt less like a sashimi-only place and more like somewhere you enjoy seafood alongside drinking food, so it could work well as a proper first stop near Sinsa Station, not just a second-round spot.

Negi Silbi Sinsa is where my partner and I went looking for a good sashimi restaurant ⭐️ It's about a 7-minute walk from Exit 8 of Sinsa Station, so it's a good spot to drop by after hanging out around Garosu-gil or Sinsa-dong. There are outdoor tables too, so in spring and fall it'd be nice to eat outside for that street-side vibe (there were some smokers around, so maybe a bit more recommended for smokers..!)

This is a pub centered on seasonal seafood, and it's not just sashimi — the menu ranges from grilled dishes to warm, hearty food.

We figured, let's really go for it haha, so we ordered the medium sea bream sashimi + grilled scallops + beef brisket tteokbokki.

What is Negi Silbi Sinsa like inside, and how do reservations and parking work?

Negi Silbi Sinsa isn't a huge place, so it fills up completely during the busy evening hours!! It's crowded enough to have time limits, so I'd recommend booking ahead!

There was even a fish tank outside — getting fresh seafood shipped straight from the source is such a nice touch 👍

There's a restroom if you go out the back door, and it was clean! (important ✨) It connects to the parking area, but there are only two spots, so you'll probably want to check ahead if you're driving :)

Chal-domi raw sea bream sashimi, medium size, 52,000 won

Negi Silbi Sinsa's sea bream sashimi comes in a medium size for ₩52,000. There are a lot of sashimi spots these days, but in the end what matters is whether the fish itself is fresh.

The sea bream sashimi was perfect as a drinking snack, and it was also a good dish to share in the middle of the table when visiting with others.

Especially with seafood, if the raw ingredient itself isn't great, no seasoning or side dish can hide it

and here, I could see why they push seasonal seafood as their main thing 👀 If you like drinking, this is a straight shot to a good time...🍻

Grilled scallops, 28,000 won: how do they go with the sashimi?

The grilled scallops are ₩28,000. Having something cold and light like sashimi, then a warm grilled dish coming in between, made for a great combination.

Warm grilled scallops fresh off the grill

Personally, at a seafood place, I prefer ordering one grilled dish alongside instead of just eating sashimi the whole time.

Going back and forth between the sashimi and the grilled scallops definitely kept things from getting repetitive and made the meal feel fuller. If you like scallops, I'd recommend ordering this alongside.

Beef brisket tteokbokki, 32,000 won: why spicy rice cakes at a seafood pub?

Negi Silbi Sinsa's beef brisket tteokbokki (rice cakes in spicy sauce) is ₩32,000. I thought, tteokbokki at a seafood pub? But after eating it, honestly, a place like this needs a dish like this!!

Tteokbokki topped with beef brisket

When you keep eating sashimi, there comes a point where you crave something spicy, intense, and hot. That's exactly when the tteokbokki hits the spot — and honestly, it's just tasty.

A bowl of spicy beef brisket tteokbokki

With beef brisket mixed in, it felt less like standard street-food tteokbokki and more like a proper drinking-food version. It was also good that there's an option for anyone in the group who can't eat seafood.

Lifting up a rice cake from the beef brisket tteokbokki

That said, at ₩32,000, it's not exactly cheap if you're judging the tteokbokki on its own! Best to think of it as a shared drinking snack for a group. The rice cakes were nice and chewy too^0^ yummy

Finished off the drinks with a zero-sugar cola (₩5,000).

Between the sea bream sashimi, grilled scallops, and beef brisket tteokbokki, we ate through raw, grilled, and spicy in order, and the combination turned out better than expected. What I liked most was that this isn't a place serving just one type of dish — there's a range from seasonal seafood to grilled items to cooked dishes 🙂↕️ Near Sinsa Station, when a group has mixed cravings — someone wants sashimi, someone wants something hot — this place seems like it would work well for that kind of gathering.

What I liked at Negi Silbi Sinsa and what to keep in mind

What I personally liked about Negi Silbi Sinsa was being able to enjoy a variety of drinking snacks centered around seafood. It's especially a good fit if you're in Sinsa-dong wanting a plate of sashimi with a drink, but prefer a pub atmosphere over a typical sashimi restaurant.

I'd recommend the sea bream sashimi + grilled scallops combo, and if you crave something spicy in between, go for the beef brisket tteokbokki too. That said, the overall price range might feel a bit high if you're just ordering one or two things lightly.

It seems better suited to visiting with a group and sharing a few dishes. Still, given the Sinsa Station location and the focus on seasonal seafood, it's worth checking out if you like seafood! Especially recommended if you're looking for a good restaurant and pub near Sinsa Station or Garosu-gil, or if you want aged sashimi or seasonal seafood with a drink in Sinsa-dong :)

My pick is the sea bream sashimi + grilled scallops combo! Add the beef brisket tteokbokki if you crave something spicy on top :) The two of us cleared the whole table, stuffed!!😁 The end.
