Jeju restaurant with bulgogi pastry pizza and huge portions: Cultured

I visited Cultured this time, and it turns out it has been selected as a Good Price Business by Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

We had three dishes—bulgogi pastry pizza, seafood tomato linguine, and beef fried rice—and the portions were seriously enormous. If you’re looking for a great-value restaurant in Ara-dong, read through to the end!

Where is Cultured, and what are its hours?

Cultured is on the first floor of the Verace building at 81 Seungcheon-ro in Ara-dong, Jeju-si. Walk uphill toward Hallasan for about a minute from the NH NongHyup Ido Branch, and you’ll spot it right near the Olive Young Ido Branch.

It is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00.

Last orders are at 13:50 for lunch and 19:50 for dinner, so I recommend checking the time before you go.

What we ordered and the free drinks

I heard this place was selected as a Good Price Business by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. After visiting, I could really see why—the portions for the price were absolutely huge.

We ordered the bulgogi pastry pizza, seafood tomato linguine, and beef fried rice. On top of that, each person gets one drink for free. I’d never been to a place this delicious and this good value before.

There were so many choices too, from soda and tea to coffee and juice!!

How everything tasted, from bulgogi pizza to fried rice

Bulgogi pastry pizza

First up, the bulgogi pastry pizza. The pastry crust was crisp on the outside and soft in delicate layers inside, which was such an interesting texture.

It was loaded with bulgogi and cheese, so even one slice felt filling.

The savory-sweet sauce went so well with the bulgogi that I kept reaching for more.

Seafood tomato linguine

Second was the seafood tomato linguine. It came with plenty of mussels and assorted seafood.

The tomato sauce was neither too sour nor overpowering—just right—so I kept scooping it up. The pasta was cooked al dente too, with a lovely bite.

Beef fried rice

Last was the beef fried rice. The beef wasn’t cut into tiny pieces; it came in nice big chunks, which made it satisfying to chew.

It had a subtle smoky wok flavor and wasn’t overly salty, so I just kept eating. More than anything, the portion was absolutely insane haha.

There were three of us, and even though none of us usually leave food behind, we still had a little left because there was so much. You can’t help saying the value is crazy.

The stretchy cheese and sauce also looked so pretty, which made taking photos fun. The pictures don’t fully capture the size of the portions—you’ll be surprised when you order in person.

Group dining and visiting tips

The restaurant is fairly spacious, so it looked great for group gatherings too. The staff were very kind, and we could eat comfortably.

Even at an in-between dinner hour, it was packed enough to fill every seat. There could be a wait, so I recommend allowing plenty of time.

Honestly, this was my first time finding somewhere this delicious with such unbelievably good value. With a free drink per person, huge portions, and great flavor, it’s somewhere I want to go back to. I highly recommend Cultured to anyone looking for a good restaurant in Ara-dong!
