Minari-grilled pork belly for two at a Bupyeong BBQ: Dongducheon

In short

Dongducheon Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Branch is a skillet-grilled pork belly restaurant on Theme Street by Bupyeong Station in Incheon. Two people ordered one aged whole pork belly platter (35,900 won), one serving of pork jowl, a minari (water dropwort) add-on and a finishing fried rice, and the bill came to about 60,000 won, with a staff member pressing the minari onto the meat by hand so its scent soaks into the pork as it grills. For an affordable Korean BBQ in Bupyeong that opens from 11:30 in the morning, Dongducheon Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Branch is the answer.

Where is Dongducheon Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal on Bupyeong Theme Street?

I was back at Bupyeong Station after a while and found this skillet pork belly place nearby that I'd wanted to try for ages!! Kimchi grilled together with pork belly is seriously the best combo..!! Here's my review of this affordable-but-delicious Bupyeong skillet pork belly spot!

It's located on Bupyeong Station's Theme Street! It's close to the station, so just take the subway, walk through the underground mall, and come out Exit 12 of the Bupyeong Station underground mall!

They're open daily from 11:30 to 23:00 (last order 22:30). I'd recommend it if you're looking for a BBQ place in Bupyeong that opens early! Most restaurants on Theme Street open late in the evening, but this one opens during the day, which was so nice!!

As for parking... Theme Street is really tough for parking, so... I'd recommend not bringing a car. The closest decent parking option is the Lotte Cinema building...!

Dongducheon Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Branch is on the 1st floor! It's located in a huge, popular spot on Bupyeong's busy Theme Street...!! Even on a weeknight, it was packed with people!

It had that lively, bustling energy typical of a BBQ place, which made for a great meal atmosphere. And especially the terrace seats give off that outdoor Bupyeong pork belly grilling vibe, eating with a cool breeze, so I definitely want to sit there next time.

There were two of us, and we ordered the aged fresh whole pork belly platter, an extra serving of pork jowl, added minari, and finishing fried rice! Oh but we really ate until we were stuffed ㅠㅠ The portions are massive!!

Staff placing the aged whole pork belly onto the skillet

At first they gave us crab doenjang stew and steamed egg as a base, and it was so good that I finished off the whole stew and even ordered more steamed egg ㅠㅋㅋㅋ Seriously so tasty ㅠㅠ

And first the staff oiled up the skillet with pork fat, then laid the meat on beautifully! The combo of meat and kimchi on a skillet really is the best ㅠㅠ A true kimchi restaurant.

And here, out of guilt about my diet... I added minari (water dropwort)! They don't just toss it on carelessly though — they infuse the meat with the minari's aroma.

They press it down carefully with their hands, and even though the skillet must be scorching hot, they did it with such effort that I was genuinely touched ㅠㅠ And of course, the taste was a total success ㅠㅠ

The fragrant minari aroma combined with the crispy-outside-juicy-inside pork belly was pure art! Between the two of us we practically ate 4 servings plus fried rice, and it only came to ₩60,000, which floored me again with how great the value was!!!

Is it a good Bupyeong spot for a date or a team dinner?

It's such a great place to chat with friends while grilling pork belly and kimchi on a skillet! And you know eating skillet pork belly without finishing with fried rice is basically a crime, right..? Make sure you order the fried rice ㅠㅠ It's so good ㅠㅠ

There were also a lot of couples in the restaurant!! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable date spot or a solid BBQ restaurant for a company dinner in Bupyeong~!!
