Daehan Beer House Ulsan Daldong is a bar in Nam-gu, Ulsan's Samsan and Daldong area where you can enjoy chicken and beer while watching games on a big screen. I visited before, loved it, and came back for more chimaek (chicken and beer) goodness.

My boyfriend had been singing the "I want chicken" song for days, and specifically picked Daehan Beer's chicken. The interior is dripping with patriotic Korean pride, and the taste backs it up too — perfect for chimaek. Plus there's a huge screen, so you can catch baseball or even soccer matches, making it an ideal Ulsan chicken spot to visit on game days.

As the name suggests, the building's exterior has a hint of hanok (traditional Korean house) style, complete with a national flag, which makes it quite unique. There's no dedicated parking lot, so I'd recommend parking in the alleys nearby.

What does Joseon Chicken taste like? Plus seafood cheese tteokbokki
The signature menu at Daehan Beer House Ulsan Daldong, Joseon Chicken, is a special dish made by stir-frying oven-roasted chicken in galbi (short rib) sauce. We paired it with seafood cheese tteokbokki, and the basic side dish was nurungji sprinkled with sugar.
The basic side dish, nurungji, comes with sugar sprinkled on top, and the sweetness keeps you reaching for more. Last time I visited, I have no idea how many times I refilled this basic side dish haha.

Joseon Chicken, the signature menu of Ulsan chicken spot Daehan Beer Ulsan Daldong — true to the name, they stick a Korean flag into the chicken, which is Daehan Beer's own trademark 🇰🇷

Joseon Chicken is Daehan Beer House's special chicken dish, made by stir-frying oven-roasted chicken in galbi sauce. Since it's oven-roasted, I let myself believe I can eat it guilt-free without worrying about the fried batter .... ♥

It's sweet with a deep, rich soy sauce flavor, and one bite will instantly explain why it's called Joseon Chicken. Since vegetables are stir-fried in with it, the flavor reminds me of gungjung tteokbokki (royal court rice cakes). The sauce seemed like it would be great mixed with rice, so I asked for a bowl, but they said they no longer sell plain rice. Instead, they said you can buy Hetbahn (instant rice) at a convenience store and eat it in the restaurant.
My boyfriend is Team Chicken vs me, Team Tteokbokki, so we also ordered tteokbokki to go with the chicken. I wanted tteokbokki loaded with cheese, so we ordered the seafood cheese tteokbokki.

True to its name, the seafood cheese tteokbokki came piled high with cheese, along with seafood, dumplings, and fried kimmari (seaweed roll) — sides that pair perfectly with tteokbokki, which made it very satisfying.

The seafood cheese tteokbokki had a deeper flavor than regular tteokbokki thanks to the seafood, and since it had plenty of broth, the appeal was scooping up the soup like a broth-style tteokbokki. Dipping the fried items in the broth and rolling them in cheese made it the perfect side dish. It's also great as a drinking snack, so I think I'll order it again haha.
Verdict: an Ulsan bar for chicken, beer and a game on screen
Daehan Beer House Ulsan Daldong was just as satisfying on this repeat visit — a chimaek bar in Ulsan's Samsan and Daldong area. There are tons of great chicken spots in Samsan-dong, but even the side dishes here are delicious, which is why my boyfriend and I have grown fond of this place.

Especially since we're both baseball-obsessed, being able to do chimaek while watching baseball makes us love this place even more .. ⚾🤍 With the upcoming Asian Games soccer matches, why not enjoy them with your partner or friends at Ulsan chimaek spot Daehan Beer Ulsan Daldong ~?
