I had a little errand near Samsan in Ulsan before the weekend, so I timed it to hit up this super-hot Samsan bar right at Friday opening time!

Apparently the wait here is usually crazy long, but I got lucky with an opening run and walked in completely first ✨. Showing up right at opening time was seriously the smartest move ever!

The place I visited this time is Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch, famous among Samsan izakayas for its yakitori and kushikatsu. Both the vibe and the menu lineup won me over so much that going solo turned into a proper healing session! Let's get into the detailed review — let's go~! 🔥
Where is Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch, and is there parking?
Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch is near a Hi-Mart in Samsan-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, close to Mokhwa Wedding Hall and McDonald's, so it's really easy to find. There's also free parking space nearby, which is convenient for anyone driving over!
Honestly, the location deserves major praise! If you're looking for a Samsan bar, pay attention — before heading over right at opening time, you can grab an iced Americano at the nearby McDonald's or a nice café and wait comfortably. Great flow to the plan ☕️
Retro interior and single counter seats for drinking alone
The moment you step inside Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch, the indoor and outdoor terrace areas flow together into a unique, retro atmosphere! With hip red lighting and antique chairs giving off that distinct Japanese feel, it's totally Instagram-worthy for photos 📸

The bar-counter-style solo seats are also really well set up, so even solo diners like me don't feel awkward at all and can just relax. And there's even a cozy blanket and a charger set up at one side — that's some real insight and thoughtfulness from the owner... heart-fluttering point, right? 🥺

Sut Tori's skewer menu and what one person can order
Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch has a tablet at every table for easy ordering! Scrolling through the menu, wow... the range of snacks was genuinely huge.
If you're into soups, they've got warm jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) or beef brisket hot pot and motsu nabe that go great with sake, and if you come with a group, ordering the charcoal omakase sets (A/B/C/D) or an assorted platter would be great value too! There's also fresh spot shrimp and sweet shrimp seafood, so the snack options really are endless... 👍
But since I came alone this time, I wanted to eat clean and satisfying, so I focused my order neatly on fried items and skewers!
- Yakitori assorted 7p (₩19,900)
- Osaka kushikatsu 5p
- Naver receipt review event (mango bomb sorbet)
Assorted yakitori 7p, 19,900 won: charcoal aroma, crisp outside and juicy inside
🍢 Charcoal-scented, crispy-outside-juicy-inside yakitori assortment & single skewers

Tada~! My yakitori order arrived! The skewers sat on a mini brazier, deeply infused with charcoal smoke — the visuals alone were insane... 🔥 Trying them one by one, there wasn't a hint of gamey smell and the texture was on another level!

- Skirt steak & pork neck: The moment you bite, the juices burst out, with a nice charcoal smokiness and salty seasoning that just calls for beer! The meat is so moist and tender.
- Heart skewer: Chewy texture that stays alive — the more you chew, the more the savory flavor explodes.
- Special cuts (breast cartilage/knee cartilage, etc.): Fun crunchy texture, absolutely perfect with sake or highball!
Paired with the basic side dishes on the table (shrimp chips, refreshing cabbage pickle, wasabi, and the house sauce), it cut through any greasiness and I could've kept eating endlessly 😋
Osaka kushikatsu 5p: how crisp is the batter?
🍤 The ultimate in crispiness! Osaka kushikatsu 5p

Next up, freshly fried Osaka kushikatsu (skewered deep-fried skewers) arrived, still steaming! 🍤 The thin, crispy batter reminded me exactly of what I ate on a trip to Osaka, Japan!
- Fried lotus root: The crunchy lotus root texture combined with the crispy batter was seriously insane.
- Fried quail eggs: Round little quail egg fritters, crispy outside and savory inside — so good!
- Sausage & fried chicken/shrimp: Crispy outside, juicy inside... a textbook example of crispy-outside-juicy-inside! Dip it in ketchup or the house dipping sauce and that crunch sound alone gives you a rush, you know?
The frying was so well done that it was totally worth picking through every snack option — I was very satisfied!
Mango bomb sorbet from the Naver receipt review event
🍨 Don't skip the Naver receipt review event! (Mango sorbet)
Also, everyone, if you come to Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch, be sure to take part in the Naver review event! Highly recommend! ⭐ Write a photo review and you can get a free 'mango bomb sorbet' or 'signature butt skewer 2p' as a service item.
I picked the sweet, cool mango bomb sorbet, and... you have to see the visuals 🥭💛. The portion was really generous, piled high with refreshing sweet mango flesh, and it was the perfect dessert to wash away the slightly heavy feeling after the fried food and skewers!
Is Sut Tori Ulsan Samsan Branch worth it for solo drinking?
