Hyehwa Indian restaurant with an aloo paratha add-on: Meono Kkameona
In short
Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch is an Indian restaurant in Jongno, Seoul, a 9-minute walk from Hyehwa Station Exit 4. Two friends ordered Set B for two at 35,500 won and added aloo paratha for 4,000 won, paying 39,500 won in total, with the chicken masala ordered a little spicy. The restaurant is large enough that there was no wait for a table, but the food took about 20 minutes, so allow extra time.

On a day when I was craving spices near Hyehwa Station, I headed to Meono Kkameona (머노까머나) in Daehangno with a friend.

Daehangno Meono Kkameona was so good. Let me lay out exactly what we ordered, the prices, and the wait time.
Where is Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch, and when is it open?
- 📍Address: 236 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea
- 🕙Hours: 11:00–22:30, open daily

I came out of Hyehwa Station Exit 4 and walked about 9 minutes. It's only 2 minutes from the bus stop, so it's easy to get to by public transit.

The restaurant is spacious so there was no wait for a table, but the food took about 20 minutes to come out. I'd recommend giving yourself extra time.
Inside the restaurant and how QR ordering works

From the entrance, the red walls and traditional Indian sculptures caught my eye right away.
Inside, the seating was split into several zones, so it felt spacious and comfortable. Brick interiors, wine racks, and Indian-style decor pieces scattered around gave it an exotic feel.

The window seats looked great for a daytime visit thanks to the good natural light. The silverware set on the wooden tables also matched the vibe nicely.

Ordering was done by scanning the table's QR code through the TagHere app — my first time ordering this way, so it felt novel.
I've been to a few Indian restaurants where hygiene left something to be desired. But this place was noticeably clean, and that was what I liked most.
Set B for two, 35,500 won, plus aloo paratha for 4,000 won

That day we ordered the Meono Kkameona Set B (for two) plus an extra aloo paratha (potato-stuffed flatbread).
- Meono Kkameona Set B (for two) ₩35,500 — includes green salad, chicken tikka, curry (chicken masala, ordered a little spicy), butter naan, saffron rice, and lassi (plain + mango)
- Aloo paratha ₩4,000 (added order)

Adding the aloo paratha to the set brought the total to ₩39,500.
How do the chicken masala (a little spicy), butter naan and aloo paratha taste?

The basic side dishes came out like this.

We ordered the chicken masala curry a little spicy, and it was just the right amount of heat without being harsh. If you like spicy food, I think you could even go for the spiciest level.

Eating the curry and naan while mixing in some rice in between made us even more full.

The butter naan was so chewy, it was fun to dip it into the curry.

Eating it fresh and warm right out of the kitchen, it was so fluffy and chewy — so delicious.

This was my first time trying aloo paratha, and having various vegetables mixed into the naan gave it a fresh texture and flavor.

It was a totally different flavor from the butter naan, which was interesting. It had a vegetable-y taste and was chewy, and eating it with the curry made the flavors even richer.

Chicken tikka at Meono Kkameona: boneless tandoori chicken
Chicken tikka is basically boneless tandoori chicken — and since regular tandoori chicken always left me struggling with the bones, this dish solved that problem.

The seasoning was spot on, and alternating bites with naan was so good! It went really well with the sauce too.

The salad was fresh too, with a sweet citrus dressing that was great for refreshing the palate after all that bold-flavored food.

The lassi glass was smaller than I expected. But drinking it after the bold curry and chicken made for a nice balance.
Is 39,500 won of food enough for two people?

The price didn't feel bad for Indian food — though maybe that's partly because it was so tasty.
Adding the aloo paratha to Set B brought the total to ₩39,500, and it was more than enough food for two adult women to eat until full.

The restaurant was clean and spacious, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about a wait. This is definitely a place I'd want to come back to whenever I'm craving Indian food.
