I'm here to tell you about the sushi meal that fed my soul at Moshi Moshi, a sushi spot near Myeongnyun Station.

I love sushi and go out of my way to find good sushi places. While looking for lunch near Myeongnyun Station, I ended up at Moshi Moshi Dongnae. Back when I worked at a company, I used to go to the Moshi Moshi Busan National University branch pretty often — the quality was great there.

Why the location is easy before a Lotte Cinema movie

This is a great spot if you're heading to Lotte Cinema Dongnae for a movie. Being able to eat in the same building without going anywhere far is honestly so convenient.

When you have an awkward amount of time before your movie, going outside and coming back in is kind of a hassle haha. In that case, eating sushi and udon here and moving straight to your next plan made the whole flow super smooth.

Ordering at the kiosk

The Moshi Moshi store is in the 8th floor dining hall of Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch. Walking in, the overall vibe felt clean, and the tables were comfortable to sit and eat at. Looking over the menu, it seemed almost identical to the Moshi Moshi Busan National University branch.

I ordered the upgraded sushi platter. There's a basic sushi platter and an upgraded one.

The 8 pieces of sushi, one by one

The upgraded sushi platter comes with 8 pieces of sushi + udon + tempura + salad + tofu. I'd had the basic sushi platter before, but the upgraded version had a wider variety, from white fish to salmon, tuna, and shrimp. What I especially loved was that the sashimi on top of the sushi was thicker than I expected.

The three-kind tempura between bites of sushi

The tempura in the sushi platter comes in three kinds: shrimp tempura, eggplant tempura, and sweet pumpkin tempura. You know how you have to eat something crunchy every so often while working through sushi, right? Haha.

I usually only eat thin eggplant tempura, but Moshi Moshi's eggplant tempura wasn't thin at all — it was thick and still really tasty.

Thick-cut fish, light rice: how the sushi tasted

One thing I quietly pay attention to when eating sushi is the amount of rice. If the rice is too big, you get full before finishing even a few pieces. At Moshi Moshi, the sashimi is piled on thick but the rice isn't overly large, so it was easy for me to eat.

That's probably why I was able to eat the 8 pieces of sushi while also working in the udon and tempura along the way. The types of sashimi also changed piece by piece instead of repeating, so I never got tired of it, even by the last bite.

The large udon you shouldn't skip at Moshi Moshi Sushi

We could have ordered other things like chashu or yaki udon, but there was a reason our whole group went with the sushi platter. The Moshi Moshi udon is just too delicious. The sushi platter doesn't come with a regular udon — it comes with a large udon. You'd think the portion might be too much, but the broth is so good you end up finishing it all anyway.

The potato croquette add-on, eaten hot

The tempura was so good that I added a potato croquette. It came out freshly fried and piping hot, and dipping it in the sauce gave that crispy-savory combo. Yeah, I basically ate until I was way too full haha.

What a full one-table lunch looks like

With the udon and tempura included, it felt like a proper full meal. If you're looking for sushi near Myeongnyun Station or a sushi spot near Lotte Cinema Dongnae, this might be worth checking out. It's also a solid choice for lunch before or after a movie.

The sushi platter always comes with salad and tofu, and it seems like these come as basics with other sets too. Either way, the salad was refreshing and the tofu was incredibly savory and delicious.

Is the sushi platter worth it when you don't want to pick a menu?

When you go eat with a group, deciding on the menu can be its own hassle, right? Someone wants sushi, someone wants a warm soup, and someone else loves tempura. The sushi platter brings all of those together at once, so it was a solid choice for a group lunch.

This time I had the upgraded version, and with the variety of sushi plus a large udon, I left feeling pretty satisfied. If you're near Myeongnyun Station and can't decide what to eat for lunch, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who loves sushi.

This time I had the upgraded sushi platter, but looking through the menu, there were more options than I expected. Besides the sushi platter, there's also a sashimi platter and assorted sushi, plus sets for groups. And the noodles aren't limited to udon — there's soba, ramen, and seafood yaki udon too, so I want to try a different combination next time.

For someone like me who wants to try everything else after looking at the menu, I don't think one visit is going to be enough haha.

It was so good I scraped every last bite. When I think of a sushi place I can eat without regret, Moshi Moshi comes to mind right away. Definitely recommend giving it a try 👍
