In short
Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch is a thick-cut black pork restaurant near Cheonjeyeon Falls and the Yeomiji Botanical Garden in Jungmun, Seogwipo, Jeju. A couple visited on a weekday at 4pm and ordered Jeju black pork belly 300g and pork neck 300g at 33,000 won each, plus bracken kimchi stew for 10,000 won, grilling garlic and kimchi in the rendered pork fat alongside. We're Huinmeong Ggeomeong-ppyu, a couple who blog about restaurant trips together, each with different tastes, eating and evaluating everything ourselves before recommending places worth a repeat visit. We're always out chasing good food across the country and Asia whenever we get the chance, and a few days ago we headed to Jungmun to enjoy the cool autumn weather, stopping by Cheonjeyeon Falls and Yeomiji Botanical Garden for a much-needed walk and some healing.
Today we're sharing an honest review of a black pork restaurant we'd bookmarked years ago and finally got to try.
Kkamang Dwaeji has 23,000 Naver reviews (4.74 out of 5).

The restaurant appeared on the TV show Saturday Is Good for Rice, and there are so many celebrity autographs on the walls that we were excited before even taking a bite.
Where is Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch, and its hours and parking
Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch is on the 1st floor of Yeomiji House, 21 Saekdaljungang-ro, Seogwipo, Jeju. It's open from 11:30 to 23:00, with last order at 22:00. There's free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant.

It was also listed in this year's Blue Ribbon Survey, which only raised our expectations further~~
Inside Kkamang Dwaeji at 4pm on a weekday: seating and mood
We visited on a weekday at 4pm, so there were no other customers yet. The tables were spaced generously apart and the space felt large, making it a good spot for group gatherings too.

We sat by the window, where a light breeze drifted in.

Worth noting: if you leave a Naver receipt review, you get a free doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) or kimchi jjigae.

The meat sitting there aging nicely~ wait for us!! We're going to eat you well haha
What the couple ordered at Kkamang Dwaeji, and the prices
- Jeju black pork belly 300g - ₩33,000
- Jeju black pork neck 300g - ₩33,000
- Bracken kimchi stew - ₩10,000
- Rice bowl - ₩1,000
- And soju

The basic side dishes were pickled radish, corn salad, seasoned bracken, kimchi, and pickled perilla leaves, along with various dipping sauces for the meat.

What really stood out was this pork fat — a clean, rendered fat similar to lard.

You absolutely have to grill garlic and kimchi in it! Don't expect the usual stir-fried kimchi flavor you're used to — the garlic aroma and fat soak deeply into the kimchi, and it's the kind of dish that makes you blurt out 'this is amazing!!' without meaning to.
Is the bracken kimchi stew worth ordering?
The bracken kimchi stew (₩10,000) that you absolutely must order at Kkamang Dwaeji is packed with bracken, kimchi, and pork.

The broth is just the right amount of sweet and spicy, but piling the soft bracken, pork, and kimchi over white rice for a bite creates an explosion of umami in your mouth.

Jeju black pork belly and neck, seared first then grilled at the table
As we ate, the Jeju black pork belly and neck came out already partially seared.

Time to grill it to a nice golden brown, just how we like it!
Ugh~ just looking at this now, knowing exactly how it tastes, is torture haha

The chewy pork belly gets more savory the more you chew!

Wrap it with a bit of bracken and the smile comes naturally.
As most of you probably know, pork neck gets tough if overcooked, so we pulled it off at about 80% done, while it was still tender.

The plump neck meat was juicy and had a subtle, meaty aroma — honestly, I kept reaching for it more than the belly.

The myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) had just the right saltiness and umami, so even dipping generously never made it too salty — we ended up switching between salt and myeoljeot.

Final verdict on Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch
If you're looking for a black pork restaurant in Jungmun, Seogwipo, Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch stands out for its aromatic, tender pork neck. We're adding it to our list of Jeju restaurants to revisit, and we'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
