In short

When you come to Jeju, you kind of have to eat black pork at least once, right? 🐷

I was hesitating about going for dinner because of the price and the schedule, but it turned out Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch has a lunch special.

I ordered pork belly and pork neck separately, and tried both the doenjang jjigae and kimchi jjigae too :)

It's near Jungmun Tourist Complex, so the route worked out well for a lunch stop during our trip.

If you're looking for a black pork restaurant in Seogwipo that doesn't break the bank, the lunch special is a solid choice!
Black pork belly with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)

We first ordered the pork belly + doenjang jjigae lunch special for ₩25,000.

The pork belly had that appealing mix of fat and lean meat in every bite. The thick-cut pieces got more savory the more you chewed, and with the outside grilled nice and golden, it really felt like eating black pork in Jeju.
Please sear it first for us haha
Fatty cuts like pork belly especially went really well with the doenjang jjigae.

A bite of meat, then a spoonful of rice dipped in the warm doenjang jjigae — it cut through the richness each time, so I kept reaching for more.

I thought eating meat for lunch might feel like too much, but with the stew and rice included, it felt like a proper meal.
Black pork neck with kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew)
For the other order, we picked the pork neck + kimchi jjigae lunch special, also ₩25,000. If pork belly is the savory option, pork neck was leaner and easier to eat.

So if you're going with two people, I'd recommend ordering one pork belly and one pork neck to share! Switching between the two cuts definitely felt less repetitive than sticking to just one.
Kimchi jjigae is also a dish you don't want to skip when eating meat. The spicy broth with rice made for a pretty hearty lunch.

A lot of black pork restaurants in Seogwipo get expensive if you order meat alone, so I liked that the lunch special lets you get meat and stew together in one go.
Is the cheese egg custard worth adding?
And I couldn't just walk past the cheese egg custard, so I added that too 🧀 With the cheese melted over the soft, fluffy egg custard, it was perfect to eat in between bites of meat.
Especially after eating something spicy like the kimchi jjigae, a bite of the cheese egg custard resets your palate with something soft and savory. If you're bringing kids to a black pork place, it also seemed like a good side dish to share.

The best combo to order for two people
If you're trying both pork belly and pork neck like we did, pick one doenjang jjigae and one kimchi jjigae to compare as you eat.
Personally, the pairing of pork belly + doenjang jjigae and pork neck + kimchi jjigae worked really well for us.
If you're traveling around Jeju's Jungmun area and looking for a black pork restaurant in Seogwipo, it's worth checking out the Kkamang Dwaeji Jungmun Branch lunch special — a lighter, more affordable option than dinner.

It wasn't just meat and done — with stew and rice included too, we left having had a really hearty lunch during our Jeju trip :)
