Shirokuma is a sushi restaurant on Hwahap 4-gil in Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, open Monday to Saturday from 11:30 to 21:00, closed on Sundays. There's a break time from 14:30 to 17:30, last order is at 20:00, and reservations, takeout, and delivery are all available.

Hello everyone! This is my personal award for #1 in the Yangsan, Gyeongnam sushi category re-re-re-re-re-visited re-re-re-re-re-delivered my go-to favorite restaurant!!!

Before I gave birth I always visited in person to eat, but after having the baby it got hard to go out, so I often ordered delivery instead. Whenever guests come over and I treat them to it, they're 100% satisfied and ask where I got the sushi. (Proud)

How to order Shirokuma delivery at store prices in Yangsan

If you're a Yangsan resident, you can order Shirokuma through the Yangsan Love Card app's [Delivery Yangsan] service or by phone and pay the same price as in-store. (Ordering through Baemin is more expensive)

How good is it... there's usually a wait even at weekday lunch. Weekends are always packed too. On a weekday lunch I just parked on the roadside in front of the shop!

Free udon or soba with any lunchtime visit

If you visit Shirokuma during lunch hours from 11:30 to 14:30, they give you udon or soba for free. The udon is delicious too, but honestly the soba is real-ly-! amazing to me.

If there's a wait, you can go inside where there's a waiting area — just write your name on the list and sit down to wait.

A 1pm weekday reservation with a baby: wooden high chair at Shirokuma

We usually feed the baby first before going out, so we made a 1:00pm reservation at Shirokuma. Even though it was past the average lunch rush, every table but one was full.

As soon as they saw we had a baby, they immediately moved us to a table for four... and even set up a baby chair right away, so thoughtful T_T And it's not even plastic — it's a solid wood chair...!!! It's heavy enough that even when the baby moves around a lot, there's nothing to worry about, haha.

Behind the seats there's also a separate hanger for storing coats and bags. These little conveniences quietly boost how satisfying the meal feels.

The interior is clean but cozy, making it a good spot for a date or a family meal out. Actually, my first visit here was with my husband back when we were dating, haha. Each table comes with pickled radish, pickled ginger, soy sauce, and napkins, and there's a kiosk that makes ordering easy.

Once the order is placed, they bring out a clear soup and salad. Even the water is delicious~ Some kind of roasted-tea water, I guess? Anyway, tasty water. They serve it. (Chuckle)

Ordered a zero-calorie cola! Even the ice cup isn't ordinary — there's a little bear in it. So cute..!

Shirokuma sushi: thick cuts of fish and rice that tastes different

Shirokuma's biggest charm is that the fish on top of the sushi is thick and fresh!!! The fish sits generously on the rice, so with one bite the balance of fish and rice is really great. Very filling too. Especially the rice itself in the sushi is delicious — it doesn't taste like typical sushi rice?

We ordered seafood yaki udon, and since it was a lunch special we also got udon and soba on top... our stomachs nearly burst haha.

How was the spicy seafood yaki udon?

Seafood yaki udon is something our family eats often!!! Usually we get the regular version, but this time we tried spicy for the first time. It was spicier than expected so I thought I might leave some, but nope — it went so well with the sushi that we finished it all without leaving a bite ^.^ haha.

The yaki udon is a specialty in its own right, so if you feel like sushi alone isn't quite enough or you want to try something different alongside it, definitely order it!!! It's delicious!!!

Restrooms and other facilities at Shirokuma

Shirokuma's restroom is behind a curtain next to the kitchen, with separate single-occupant restrooms for men and women. It was also impressive that mouthwash was provided in the restroom. It felt like a thoughtful touch to let you finish your meal feeling fresh.

Coming out of the restroom, there's a lit mirror for touch-ups.

There's also a Japanese-style decoration — the sushi and sashimi figurines are so cute, haha.

We won 3rd place once before, haha. Other than that, only 5th place... but the chocolate is good, so it's fine.
