Kkamuri Sangbong Station Main Branch is a handmade skewer and oden soup izakaya bar on Manguro 48-gil near Sangbong Station. Meeting up with two friends for the first time in a while, we went on a food outing around Sangbong,, Kkamuri was apparently started to fulfill the dream of the owner's only nephew, following the late wishes of his mother, and they say they serve every single guest with sincerity, built on carefully cooked dishes, kindness, and diligence.

The name 'Kkamuri' doesn't have any special meaning — it's just Gyeongsang-do dialect for 'dark-skinned/swarthy.'

Kkamuri Sangbong Station Main Branch has outdoor-style tables near the entrance, group seating inside, and cushy sofa tables, and corkage is ₩20,000 per bottle with no limit on how many bottles you bring. The charming outdoor-style tables by the entrance are perfect for these cool days lately, and the place works great for dates, friend gatherings, or company dinners too.

Pets are welcome and private bookings are possible, but there's no parking.

Ordering the Owner's Home Run Set with a red oden soup swap

This time, the three of us ordered the Owner's Home Run Set at ₩52,000 (10 skewers, oden soup, random side), and swapped the oden soup for red oden soup for an extra ₩3,000.

The basic side snack that comes out is ttukbokki-flavored crackers — I used to eat these all the time at the school store in high school, so it was nostalgic seeing them again ^^7

How was Kkamuri's red oden soup?

Kkamuri's red oden soup comes out packed full in a stone pot, with so many different kinds of fish cake that it's fun picking through them.

The square skewer fish cake had that classic street-food taste,, obviously delicious. There was also round ball fish cake, pink fish cake, and plenty of fried tofu pockets — the pink fish cake was my top pick,,, super soft texture, right up my alley. The rice cake was chewy too, perfect for the carb fix.

There was squid in it too for a refreshing note, and the red broth was spicy and tangy — I think switching to this version was the right call. A spicy broth loaded with tender fish cake and rice cake is the perfect choice for this chillier weather, highly recommend ^^7

What was in Kkamuri's 10-piece handmade skewer set?

The 10 skewers in the Owner's Home Run Set came piled high on a plate — beef heart, pork belly, chicken thigh, enoki mushroom, chicken wing, fried chicken skin, garlic, and ginkgo nuts, among others. The handmade skewers had no gamey smell, were moist and evenly cooked, and eating them with mayo and wasabi made for the perfect drinking snack.

Plump and tender in texture,, not tough at all, so it came off the skewer easily in each bite. You could feel the care put into every single skewer, cooked just right without overcooking — really delicious.

What was Kkamuri's random side dish this time?

The random side (hidden menu item,,?) that showed up this time was a mini sweet potato cake. I'd been curious about this one,

Cutting it in half revealed whipped cream inside, with sweet potato mousse and sweet potato cubes on top. Perfect as a palate cleanser after a meal, like a dessert,, a flavor pretty much everyone would like.

I'd recommend Kkamuri Sangbong Station Main Branch as a handmade skewer and oden soup specialist. The food is so good the drinks go down easy. I was impressed by the skewers on my last visit too, and coming back after a while, the consistently high-quality dishes and warm atmosphere were still there.
