Beomeo, Daegu burgers: after-daycare date with a 4-year-old, Downtown

When I want a good handmade burger in Beomeo, Daegu, Downtown is one of the first places that comes to mind, and it's been really hot lately. My 4-year-old daughter now and then goes "Ham~!" (her word for hamburger) haha. So for an after-daycare date, we went to Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage (다운타우너 대구빌리브헤리티지) on the Beomeo covered-stream road, to eat her favorite.

I like burgers in general, but there's a real difference between franchise burgers and handmade ones, right?! I came wondering whether it really deserves its fame.

Where is Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage, and where can you park?

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is in the Believe Heritage shopping block in Suseong-dong 4-ga, Suseong-gu, Daegu (20 Deuran-ro 73-gil, Building 302, 1st floor, Unit 204). There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to park on the street. It's open daily 11:00-21:00, with last order at 20:00. Groups, takeout, delivery and pets are reportedly all OK.

It's a nice stop on a Beomeo covered-road, Beomeocheon food alley and Sincheon Market food crawl. A pretty red-brick building with a triangular roof pops right out at you! It sits in the Believe Heritage block together with Knotted and Clap Pizza.

If you come by subway, it's about 844 m from Exit 4 of Daegueunhaeng Station.

I came by car. Shops around Sincheon Market barely have parking lots, so I was expecting that! I parked on the street around Beomeocheon by Sincheon Market and walked in.

What is the atmosphere like at Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage?

With high ceilings, long sweeping line lights, and an interior mixing wood tones and white, the place feels clean yet warm. The first things that caught my eye when I walked in were exactly that ceiling height and the lighting.

Green plants dotted around add life to the space, and there are hip, primary-colored design touches too, so

It's a comfy yet trendy, very MZ-generation kind of space, so photos come out great. A real photo spot!

Plenty of natural light comes in, and the bright, open feel kept the whole meal relaxed and refreshing.

Is Downtown good with kids? High chairs and a self-serve bar

There's a high chair, and also a self-serve bar stocked with water, onion pickles and tissues. The onion pickles are tasty, so don't forget to grab some!!

How does the Double Cheese Truffle Burger taste?

The Downtown Double Cheese Truffle Burger set (₩17,300) is overwhelming from the first look! Melted cheddar piles over a thick patty, and with the first bite a subtle truffle aroma spreads and really upgrades the flavor of the meat. The patty's juices just keep flowing, and the deeper you chew, the more rich beefy flavor fills your mouth.

The bun is studded with sesame seeds, so it's nutty and toasty too. The truffle isn't overpowering, and there's the richness of butter and the deep, melty cheese... so good, right?

How does the Shrimp Deluxe Burger taste?

The Downtown Shrimp Deluxe Burger (single ₩11,800) has a whole-shrimp patty, so the springy texture came through from the first bite, and you could taste the shrimp's sweetness 🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤 The coating isn't too thick, so behind the crunch the shrimp stays moist, and with fresh lettuce and tomato the overall balance was great.

Fries and drinks at Downtown

The Downtown fries were a little plumper than McDonald's, and the seasoning was just right. They were so good that my daughter kept telling me to try some too. They came out fresh and stayed crispy for a long time, and the salty seasoning isn't heavy, so I kept reaching for more. Having them with a soda made the rich flavor of a handmade burger feel even cleaner.

Is this Beomeo, Daegu burger spot worth a return visit?

There are so many great handmade burger places these days, but Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage satisfied me on both taste and atmosphere. The patty's juiciness, the cheese's flavor, the crunch of fresh veggies, nothing was lacking. It was seriously good!! Classy!

I especially liked how the deep beefy flavor and truffle aroma of the Double Cheese Truffle Burger worked together, and the Shrimp Deluxe Burger really showcased the shrimp's texture. My 4-year-old asks to go eat burgers here every time she thinks of it hahaha, so I figure I'll be back soon to try other burgers!
