It is always a pleasure to seek out a neat, delicious meal where you can find those small but certain moments of happiness in everyday life.

A neat Japanese fusion meal found in Gwanpyeong-dong
Not long ago, I suddenly found myself craving delicious Japanese fusion food, so there was a place I went to visit. From its clean interior to the care put into each menu item, it was a restaurant that left me very satisfied. It is already widely talked about around Gwanpyeong-dong in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, so I arrived full of anticipation—and it truly did not disappoint, with excellent flavors and atmosphere. Today I am introducing Choi Dining Daejeon Gwanpyeong (초이다이닝 대전관평점), a great Gwanpyeong-dong lunch spot with appealingly neat Japanese-style futomaki and nutty soba.
Parking out front and a comfortable interior
The first thing that caught my eye was the stylish exterior. Its retro yet neatly arranged sign and banners at the entrance gave a friendly welcome. Parking is often one of the biggest concerns for visitors arriving by car, but this place has parking spaces directly in front, making it very convenient to visit by vehicle. Being able to park and walk straight in without hunting for a space was a major advantage.

Inside, a warm, cozy wood tone blended with clean white to create an inviting interior. The space was roomy and pleasant, with generous gaps between tables, so it was easy to settle in and focus on the meal. The lighting was not overdone and created a cozy mood, making it look perfectly suitable for a date; there were in fact many couples enjoying dates there. Each table had a tablet for easy ordering, so I could browse the menu at my leisure and order without pressure. There were also well-arranged bar seats and tables for two, making it a completely comfortable setting for solo diners who want to enjoy a quiet meal alone.

Ordering salmon futomaki and perilla oil gat soba
The dishes I ordered with high expectations that day were Choi Dining's signature salmon futomaki and the nutty perilla oil gat soba. The food did not take long to arrive, presented in a neat spread that caught my eye from the very first look.

Salmon futomaki packed into every bite
First, the salmon futomaki was impressive from its appearance alone. A large sheet of seaweed was tightly rolled around a variety of ingredients: fresh, thick-cut raw salmon, rolled omelet, cucumber, radish sprouts, and fried tempura. Taking a big bite, the rich freshness of the salmon, the crisp cucumber, and the soft egg came together beautifully. A light dip in the accompanying house mayo sauce intensified the nuttiness even more, making it something I could keep eating without tiring of it. The freshness of the ingredients came through clearly, and every piece prompted another little exclamation of admiration—definitely a wonderful Gwanpyeong-dong lunch menu.

Perilla oil gat soba that keeps the richness balanced
The perilla oil gat soba I tried next was also a real specialty. Chewy buckwheat noodles were topped with fragrant perilla oil, savory gat jangajji (pickled mustard greens), gamtae seaweed, and soft rolled omelet. After giving it a quick mix with my chopsticks and taking a bite, the distinctive nutty fragrance of perilla oil filled my mouth, while the salty, crisp pickled mustard greens cut through the richness perfectly. The noodles had a lovely springy texture, and their savory flavor grew with every chew, so I enjoyed them right to the end. The futomaki and perilla oil gat soba complemented one another wonderfully, creating an even more abundant meal.

A Gwanpyeong-dong lunch comfortable for dates and solo meals
I would give high marks to everything: the food quality, the restaurant's cleanliness, and the friendly service. With the benefit of easy parking in front of the restaurant, it is highly accessible, and its bright atmosphere makes it a very recommendable date spot. At the same time, the relaxed atmosphere lets you eat comfortably without feeling self-conscious, so solo dining is easy too; it felt like a space anyone could visit without hesitation. If you are looking for a satisfying Gwanpyeong-dong lunch spot, I strongly recommend stopping by at least once.

Enjoy a hearty, special dining experience here, where a carefully prepared meal can make for such a pleasant time. You may find yourself completely drawn in by the appeal of clean, distinctive Japanese-style dishes.
