Pet-friendly pizza restaurant in Suwon on a rainy Wednesday: Low Five

In short

Low Five Sinpung is the second location of Low Five, a pet-friendly pizza and brunch restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Visiting on a rainy Wednesday for lunch, the writer ordered a half-and-half pizza (corn pizza + hot chili potato), truffle cream pasta, and avocado kimchi fried rice, and the restaurant was fully booked right after arrival. The corn pizza and truffle cream pasta are highly recommended, while the kimchi fried rice ran on the spicy and salty side.

View of Low Five Sinpung in Haenggung-dong on a rainy day

I went to Haenggung-dong on a rainy day. It was a weekday and pouring rain, so there were few people around — it felt atmospheric and lovely.

Why I went to Sinpung instead of the original location

I came to Low Five, famous for pizza in Haenggung-dong. I'd tried to visit several times before but always failed because of the waiting line. Recently a second location opened up, so since the original closes on Tuesdays, I went to the second location, Sinpung, instead.

The exterior had such a strong European vibe — it was gorgeous. Like, are we in Europe right now?

Waiting and pet-friendly info

As a popular restaurant, there's always a wait on weekends, so there were waiting-related notices posted near the entrance. You can join the waitlist through Catch Table. Since it's also a pet-friendly restaurant, there were notices about that too. In Haenggung-dong, where pet-friendly restaurants are rare, this is a huge plus.

Fully booked even at lunch on a rainy Wednesday

I visited during Wednesday lunch hours and, since it was pouring rain, I figured I'd get to eat in a relaxed atmosphere. But right after we sat down, customers kept streaming in and the place filled up completely. The interior atmosphere was really nice and the tables were spacious, so ordering multiple dishes wasn't uncomfortable at all.

How to order and the menu

To order, you scan the QR code attached to each table and order from your phone. Besides pizza, there were various brunch items like pasta, salad, and kimchi fried rice. You really have to try the corn pizza — it's Low Five's signature, most popular menu item.

Check where the self-serve bar is beforehand

There was a self-serve bar set up in the center of the restaurant, with water, wet wipes, tissues, parmesan cheese, and tabasco sauce. The disappointing part was that we only discovered it while paying after we'd finished eating — ugh.

Half-and-half pizza with corn pizza and hot chili potato

Half-and-half pizza (corn pizza + hot chili potato)

Corn pizza with a white truffle cream base

The corn pizza is made with white truffle cream, bacon, chili shrimp, butter seasoning, and corn. It was as delicious as the rumors said. The sauce was smooth and savory, and with the sweetness of the corn popping in every so often, it was incredibly addictive.

The hot chili potato side apparently gets its crispy texture from hot chili sauce, bacon, potato, and basil. The hot chili sauce brought a real fiery kick of spiciness.

The crispy, chewy end of the pizza crust

The toppings were great, but the chewy, crispy crust was seriously delicious. Most people usually skip the crust ends, but this one was so crispy and chewy that I actually wanted more of it.

Truffle cream pasta

Truffle cream pasta drizzled with truffle oil

This is a creamy pasta with grilled mushrooms and a hint of truffle. Truffle oil is drizzled around the plate, giving off a savory aroma that makes it delicious before you even take a bite. The truffle cream pasta paired a thick, rich cream sauce with a subtle truffle scent that worked perfectly together. The noodles were cooked just right and the mushrooms had the perfect texture — my companion raved about how good it was.

Avocado kimchi fried rice

Kimchi fried rice topped with avocado and scrambled eggs

This is kimchi fried rice (bokkeumbap) topped with avocado and scrambled eggs. The fried rice was quite moist, and the soft, sweet scrambled eggs plus the savory avocado added extra flavor. It was on the spicier side, so it might do a good job of cutting through greasiness.

There was also quite a lot of bacon mixed in. For us it ended up a bit too spicy and salty, which was a downside, but I appreciated how generously packed with ingredients it was.

Conclusion: what to order

The corn pizza and truffle cream pasta were so good that I highly recommend them!
