Why I started PT in Dongcheon-dong
This was my first PT session at Brofit Dongcheon, starting with a posture analysis from a meticulous female trainer. I always want to work out hard, but once I start, there are plenty of moments when I wonder, "Am I actually doing this in a way that suits my body right now?"
That's especially true when I train alone. I move, I sweat, but only one side feels tough, or the force keeps going to the same familiar spots. This time I wanted to understand my body in more detail and work out step by step, so I visited Brofit Health & PT Dongcheon Branch, a gym in Dongcheon-dong, Suji.

Having a female PT trainer in Dongcheon-dong made it even more comfortable. My first lesson covered a goal consultation, a posture check, lower-body care and body conditioning! My body felt much lighter, and I came away wanting to trust her and work hard from here on, haha
How does parking work at Brofit Dongcheon?
Brofit Dongcheon has an outdoor parking lot behind the building with 3 hours of free parking, which was convenient. Parking quietly matters a lot when you go to the gym. Between getting ready before and after a PT lesson and doing some solo training, you need time, so it's nice not to be rushed by the parking clock.

Brofit Dongcheon facilities and cleanliness
Stepping inside Brofit Dongcheon, I noticed neatly arranged machines and a long row of lockers. The workout space doesn't feel cramped, and with a good variety of cardio and weight machines, I thought it would be a nice place for solo workouts later too. When choosing a gym in Dongcheon-dong, I look at facilities and cleanliness as much as the trainer, and this place won me over from the first impression.
Workout clothes and towels are provided, and the showers and small equipment seemed well kept. There's also an area with mats and foam rollers, which is great for loosening up before and after exercise. I usually foam roll lightly before working out or PT and do a bit of cardio depending on how I feel, so I was glad to see this space, haha

How does the first PT consultation go?
In the first PT consultation at Brofit Dongcheon, we talked in detail about my workout goals, the parts of my body that feel uncomfortable now, and the direction I want to go. What I liked most at this Dongcheon gym that day was how thorough the first consultation was.
The trainer wrote things down as she explained, which made me rethink how I normally use my body. I went in with a vague wish to "get healthier," but hearing what to look at first and in what order to train from my current state made my future PT feel much more concrete.
That was exactly why I wanted to start PT at a gym in Dongcheon-dong. I wanted a trainer who could watch the movements I can't see on my own and tell me what kind of exercise I need, and I was already looking forward to it from the first consultation.

That day too, I warmed up lightly, drank some water and started PT!!
Female trainer at a Dongcheon-dong gym: workout consultation and posture diagnosis in the first lesson

Posture analysis results from the marching-in-place video
In the first lesson at Brofit Dongcheon, we filmed me marching in place to check my posture. My right knee pointed inward, and my body gradually twisted while I marched. I also heard that I use my left front thigh a lot. To me, I was just walking like usual, but as she pointed out each movement, I thought, "Oh, so this is what they look at!"
She explained while looking at photos and video together, which made it easy to understand. If I only heard it, I might forget quickly, but seeing myself hit home much more. I liked that this first lesson at a Dongcheon-dong gym gave plenty of time to observe my body like this.
- In the first marching video, my right knee turns inward
- Because of that, my left side overuses the front thigh
- When I march in place, my body twists

Lower-body care with a female trainer: was it comfortable?
The female trainer at Brofit Dongcheon carefully checked and loosened my lower body, including calves and the area around my feet, and I felt at ease with a female trainer throughout. Her touch when adjusting my posture or pressing on my body wasn't awkward, so I could relax.
Being able to take a lesson comfortably matters more than I expected. When your body is tense, it's hard to listen to explanations or focus on movement, but with her I could ask whatever I was curious about and enjoy the lesson.
My trainer said that once the lower body is loosened well, the tight left side would feel lighter and my soles and thighs would work more easily, so walking would feel different. And it really did! I realized that for a body with a big imbalance, balancing and loosening up before exercise is important.

PT records posted on Naver Band after class
After each PT lesson at Brofit Dongcheon, the trainer leaves photos and lesson notes on Naver Band (a Korean group-chat app). What a meticulous PT trainer in Dongcheon-dong! I used to think only about weights and reps when working out, but I realized I also need to look into how I stand and how I walk first.
The first lesson at Brofit, a gym in Dongcheon-dong, Suji, made me pay a bit more attention to my body. She explained which areas to work on as I continue, so I want to keep taking lessons and learn one thing at a time.
I really loved the Naver Band records! During class I may feel like I understand, but back home I can get confused: "Which side did she say I'm using, and how?" With the records, I can check again through text and photos.
My thoughts after the first PT
Walking out with my body feeling lighter, my motivation naturally went up. Since I've made up my mind to exercise, I'm going to stick with it this time! I want to attend PT in Dongcheon-dong diligently, keep up my solo workouts faithfully according to my condition, and build a healthy body little by little.
I won't forget what I learned about my body today, and I'll go step by step rather than rushing out of greed. I met a good trainer, so I should learn well and keep moving. It was a first lesson that makes me look forward to how my workout records will pile up♡
