A Dongcheon-dong Gym I Found Before My Wedding Photos
My wedding photos are just around the corner, so lately I’ve been thinking I should work out even a little more. The gym in my apartment complex is rather small, and I thought it might be good to try personal training too, so I looked into gyms nearby and found Brofit Health & PT Dongcheon Branch (브로핏 헬스&PT 동천점)!
Brofit Health & PT Dongcheon Branch Facilities

Brofit Health & PT Dongcheon Branch is near Exit 3 of Dongcheon Station, so it was easy to get to. It finished remodeling last year, and the facilities were nicely clean too! I tend to go on weekday evenings, and it’s always busy with such an energetic atmosphere that it makes me work harder as well. Even when I don’t feel like going, the moment I arrive at the gym, I think, “I need to work hard!”~

How Many Stretching Zones Are There?
I like gyms with a separate stretching zone, and Brofit Health & PT Dongcheon Branch had stretching areas too! There were as many as four, and since I don’t stretch for an extremely long time, there was never a shortage of space~

Cardio and Strength-Training Equipment
There were so many options, from treadmills, bikes, and StairMaster machines for cardio to equipment for strength training.

I’ve had personal training several times and gone to quite a few gyms, but I still find the strength-training zone difficult, haha. It made me think I need to practice using the machines steadily, even if only little by little~ There were definitely fewer people there than in the cardio zone!

Upper-Body PT After an InBody Consultation
Before starting the PT session, I had an InBody body-composition measurement and a consultation about whether I had any discomfort. I asked lots of questions throughout, and it was nice that they answered them in detail~
They told me that when the goal is weight loss, diet and cardio should be the focus, with strength training alongside them for even better results. When I said I swim, they suggested working out at the gym on days I don’t swim and maintaining regular eating habits too! I think the most important thing for me will be not eating the snacks I love... chips, haha.

There was also a water dispenser so I could stay hydrated while working out.

Lockers, towels, and workout clothes were available too!

Gym Rules and Showers
The gym rules were posted near the entrance, so they were easy to check before using the facilities! There is also a Chuseok special discount underway, so if you’re looking for a gym in Dongcheon-dong, go in for a consultation~ I thought the prices seemed reasonable too!

The shower room was quite spacious too, and it felt clean and well maintained!

The Satisfaction of Using Muscles I Hadn’t Used
My wedding photos aren’t far off, and my ceremony is six months away. When I said I carry more weight in my upper body, they tailored the PT session mainly around upper-body exercises. Maybe because I used muscles I hadn’t used in a while, the soreness lasted quite a long time, haha. Still, it let me know I’d really exercised properly, which made me feel pretty satisfied!
It was nice that they explained how to use the equipment slowly and demonstrated the exercise positions, making it clear where I should be applying force. I’ve been to several gyms and had lots of PT sessions, but getting back into it after not doing it for a while felt new again, haha. I’m going to work hard as instructed and definitely succeed with my diet!!
