Geobukseom grilled clam restaurant: 3-tier platter for two, Bada Super
In short
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch (바다수퍼해물천하조개구이 거북섬오이도점) is an ocean-view grilled clam and steamed clam restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building right in front of the sea at Geobukseom in Siheung, Gyeonggi. On a Friday evening the writer ordered the assorted grilled clams for 2 (54,000 won), a tuna rice ball and cold soju. The meal arrived in three generous tiers of abalone, scallops, pen shell, red scallops and nakji horongi (octopus wrapped on a skewer), and all the seafood was fresh. Bada Super in Geobukseom is a good pick for red scallops with cheese sauce and a West Sea ocean view.

I visited Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch (바다수퍼해물천하조개구이 거북섬오이도점), known as a famous grilled clam spot in Geobukseom! You can look out over the West Sea while you eat, so my expectations were high. It's in Geobukseom, Siheung, an easy drive from Seoul, so it's also a great weekend outing. Here's my honest review after actually eating there.

Bada Super Geobukseom Oido Branch: location, hours and parking
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch is on the 3rd floor (units 301–308) of the building at 116 Geobukseom-ro, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open Mon–Fri 12:00–22:00 and Sat–Sun 11:00–22:00, with a break from 15:00 to 16:30 on weekdays and regular closing every Monday. You can reserve by phone, and building parking is available, so I'd recommend coming by car.
What the outside looks like and how to get there

We came by car! You can also get here by bus, but to get around Geobukseom comfortably I personally recommend driving. The building sits right in front of the sea, so it wasn't hard to find, and the restaurant is on the 3rd floor. Parking was easy too, so no stress getting there!
Ocean-view seats at Geobukseom: can you get one by reserving?
If you reserve ahead, you can secure a seat with a direct view of the sea. Even without an ocean-view seat, the restaurant is big and the tables are spaced out, so it never felt cramped.

Inside, it's wide and open, just what you'd expect from a clam grill place. The interior has a strong seaside feel that suits Geobukseom really well. I especially liked that reserving ahead lets you claim an ocean-view seat! And even if you don't get one, the place is spacious and the tables are nicely spread out, so it didn't feel stuffy at all. We went on a Friday evening, and once mealtime hit, customers trickled in and the place filled up fast. Clearly popular!

The sea view is insane, right?!

Menu and ordering: assorted grilled clams for 2, ₩54,000
Besides the signature grilled clams and steamed clams, the menu had lots of other seafood, like a lobster special set and seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup). With a bigger group, the set menus looked like a hearty way to go.
But we came this day to really enjoy grilled clams, so we ordered the grilled clams for 2 (₩54,000) without a second thought! The price seemed fair for grilled clams these days.
- Assorted grilled clams for 2: ₩54,000
- Tuna rice ball: ₩5,000
- Soju: ₩5,000
What does the three-tier assorted grilled clams for 2 look like?
With the assorted grilled clams for 2 you get side dishes of kimchi, pickled chili peppers, corn salad and wasabi, and each table also has soy sauce and chogochujang (sweet-and-sour chili sauce).

The grilled clams for 2 came out in this generous three-tier setup~

The top tier held 2 abalone, 2 shrimp and red scallops,

and the second tier was mostly scallops.

The third tier was packed with pen shell clams, assorted other clams, scallops, cheese sauce and even nakji horong (octopus skewers). I thought a set for 2 would be small, but there was more variety than I expected.

Grilling the clams yourself: is it hard?
At Bada Super you grill the clams yourself, but you just put them on and eat them once they're cooked, so it was easy.
You can't have grilled clams without soju, so we had some, and honestly, on a day this hot, getting ice-cold soju was so good.
Pen shell, white scallops and red scallops
The pen shell clam was big, so we cut it into bite-size pieces! It was chewy with big chunks of meat, really satisfying to bite into. The white scallops were plump and tasty too, but

personally the red scallops were the best! The red roe part was rich and nutty, and it added so much flavor.

We cooked the abalone and the other clams one by one too, and you could tell the seafood was fresh overall, which I loved.

Octopus skewers and cheese sauce
The nakji horong cooks faster than you'd think~ The tender texture was so good that it vanished in no time. And when you dunk a well-cooked clam in the cheese sauce, the nutty cheese flavor adds a whole other charm!

Ramyeon or tuna rice ball as a side?
For a side I was torn between ramyeon (instant noodles) and a rice ball, and went with the tuna rice ball (₩5,000). I really recommend it. The portion was way bigger than I expected, and with tuna and all kinds of ingredients packed in, every bite was full of filling.
Verdict: how was this Geobukseom ocean-view grilled clam spot?
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch was a Geobukseom grilled clam place where we got to enjoy plenty of fresh clams. Abalone, scallops, pen shell and red scallops came in three tiers, which was fun to look at, and above all the clams were fresh. I especially hope you try the rich flavor of the red scallops and clams dipped in cheese!
The ocean view with the West Sea spread out before you and the roomy, comfortable restaurant were big pluses too. Reserving gets you a sea-view seat, so it seems good for a date or a family meal. After eating, we could stroll around Geobukseom and look at the sea. If you want delicious grilled clams and a great ocean view together, this is a Geobukseom restaurant I'd recommend!
