Pohang seaside restaurant with pasta: Plan A Restaurant
In short
Plan A Restaurant is a Western restaurant on the fourth floor of a building directly across from Songdo Beach in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. My friend and I shared chopped steak and two pasta dishes while looking out at the sea; ocean-side tables were nearly full around 5:30 p.m., but the location was ideal for a post-meal beach walk.

While looking for a place to eat with a sea view in Pohang, I visited Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑), right across from Songdo Beach. My friend and I shared chopped steak and pasta while catching up.

What I liked most was being able to see the sea right in front of us while we ate.

Where is Plan A Restaurant, and what was parking like?
The address is 4F, 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, South Korea. Since it is right across from Songdo Beach, it was not difficult to find on my first visit.
We parked in the marked roadside spaces directly in front of the building, which were free during our visit. There is also a public parking lot behind the building.

Were the ocean-view seats available?

We visited around 5:30 p.m., and not long after we arrived, quite a few diners began coming in. There were already almost no seats on the sea-facing side when we visited. If you want an ocean view, I would recommend booking through Naver in advance.

Songdo Beach was visible right through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Eating and chatting while looking at the sea with a friend I had not seen in a while felt unhurried.
What did we eat as a pair?
We ordered Plan A chopped steak, carbonara, and shrimp cream spaghetti. Sharing one steak dish and two pastas worked well for the two of us.

We chose the chopped steak to share. Adding a meat dish to the pasta made the meal feel more substantial.
I chose the carbonara. I usually enjoy creamy sauces, and it tasted even better with the atmosphere of eating while looking at the sea.

I also tried the shrimp cream spaghetti that my friend ordered. If you like spicy cream pasta, it is a reliably good option.

Is it good for a walk along Songdo Beach after your meal?
With the beach right in front, it was nice to take a slow walk after eating. I liked that we could easily combine a meal with a seaside walk.

Personally, Songdo Beach felt a little quieter and more relaxed than Yeongildae Beach. It is about a 10-minute drive from Yeongildae, but the atmosphere felt quite different. It was also convenient for talking with my friend by the sea or heading to a nearby café after the meal.

Why would I like to return?

What I liked most was being able to enjoy pasta and steak while looking at the sea. I came with a friend this time, but when I return to Pohang, I would like to come back for a date with my husband.

What are the opening hours and closing day?
The original post lists the hours as 11:45 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a break from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m. Last orders are at 8:30 p.m., and the restaurant is closed every Tuesday. I recommend checking hours and closure information once more before visiting.
