Ocean-view pasta in Pohang: Plan A Restaurant
In short
Plan A Restaurant is a Western restaurant on the fourth floor of a building directly opposite Songdo Beach in Pohang. I visited with my child and ordered truffle aglio e olio, mushroom basil pesto cream risotto, chicken salad, and green grape ade. Even from a seat set back from the sea, the view was broad, and the portions were generous.

I had visited Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑) on a trip to Pohang before getting married, and this time I went with my child. I remembered having a meal while looking at the sea in front of Songdo Beach.

Where is it near Songdo Beach, and was parking easy?
The restaurant is on the fourth floor of a building directly opposite Songdo Beach. The address is 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

We parked in the free public parking lot behind the building. Although we visited on a weekend, it was spacious and had plenty of room. A notice also said that the administrative welfare center parking lot to the right of the building could be used.

At the time of my visit, the posted hours were 11:45–21:00, with regular closure on Tuesdays. There was a break time from 15:30 to 17:00.

Do ocean-view seats need a reservation?
The indoor space had sea views from both sides, so it felt very open. When we went, all the seats closest to the sea were reserved. A notice said to reserve ahead through Naver if you want those seats, and same-day reservations were also possible.

There were also seats farther inside.

We sat a little farther back from the sea. It was not the front row, but the wider view actually let us take in the blue sea at a glance. I was happy to have a relaxed meal while looking out at the water.

What is it like for dining with children or family gatherings?
There were two ocean-view group tables. A large family was dining at one of them, so I did not take a photo.

We could also step out onto the terrace. In the sea breeze, we looked at the view of the sea together with the POSCO steelworks.

High chairs and tableware were available. There was also plenty of room indoors, which made it comfortable to dine with a child.

What did we order, and how were the prices?
There were steak, pasta, risotto, salad, and fried dishes, and we ordered by tablet. We chose truffle aglio e olio, mushroom basil pesto cream risotto, chicken salad, and green grape ade.

How was the portion and taste of the ₩13,000 chicken salad?
The chicken salad arrived first and cost ₩13,000. I was not expecting much, but the portion was more generous than I thought. It included chicken, tomatoes, nuts, salad greens, and cheese.

The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken was crisp outside and tender inside. We shared it as an appetizer, but seeing the portion, I thought it would also work as a meal for one person.
Sipping green grape ade while looking at the sea made it feel as though I had come to a café. Watching people enjoy leisure activities on the beach made the wait pass quickly.

Soon, the rest of our order arrived. It looked like the menu photos, and considering the ocean view and the portions, the prices did not feel burdensome.

What did the risotto my child liked best taste like?
The mushroom basil pesto cream risotto came on a large plate, so it looked generous from the start. It was the dish my child enjoyed most that day.

It was rich and savory. The sauce was thick and creamy, making it easy to eat, and the chewy mushrooms went well with the soft rice grains.

Can the spice level of the truffle aglio e olio be adjusted?
The spice level of the truffle aglio e olio could be adjusted. Since my child would be eating it too, I asked for it to be made completely non-spicy.

It was a clean-tasting oil pasta with a pronounced truffle aroma. The noodles were pleasantly chewy and well coated in oil, so they went down smoothly.
This time I came with my child, but I also thought it would suit a date or anniversary meal when you want to dine leisurely while looking at the sea. If you want a seat close to the water, it is worth arranging a reservation.
