While spending our summer vacation in Jeju with my parents, I returned to Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점). I remembered the meal we had after visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong before, so we followed the same route again on the first day of this trip.

Last time, we had the black pork duruchigi set, and this time we chose the braised hairtail set and abalone porridge. Even after a long time away, the food still suited my taste.

How long does it take from Seongsan Ilchulbong, and where did we park?

The restaurant is at 101 Sinyang-ro in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo. It was described as about a seven-minute drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong and about three minutes from Aqua Planet Jeju or Seopjikoji, making it conveniently located for a meal while traveling around eastern Jeju.

At the time of our visit, we parked along the road in front of the restaurant. I heard there was also parking behind the restaurant, but we did not use it ourselves.
What was the atmosphere like for a meal with my parents?

We went for an early lunch after looking around Seongsan Ilchulbong, and there were quite a few travelers stopping by like us. The interior was more spacious and cleaner than I expected, so it felt comfortable for a family meal.
At the time, I was told there was no break time, so I felt it would be easy to stop by even if our meal time ran late because of our sightseeing schedule.

How much were the sets and individual dishes?

These were the menu prices I recorded at the time of my visit. The original post does not state how many servings the set prices cover.
- Sets: A set ₩24,000, B set ₩21,000, C set ₩16,000, D set ₩18,000
- Individual dishes: abalone seafood stew, abalone porridge, and sea urchin seaweed soup ₩15,000 each
- Additional dishes: one grilled okdom ₩8,000, soy-marinated crab ₩5,000
- Rice: sticky-pot rice ₩3,000, steamed rice ₩1,000
- Alcohol and drinks: soju and beer ₩5,000 each; tangerine, peanut, and hallabong makgeolli ₩6,000 each; soft drinks ₩2,000
What came with the braised hairtail set we ordered for three?

The three of us ordered two servings of the braised hairtail A set and one individual abalone porridge. The A set included braised hairtail, grilled okdom, sticky-pot rice, and soy-marinated crab, with a choice between seafood stew and sea urchin seaweed soup. We had tried the seafood stew last time, so we chose the sea urchin seaweed soup this time.

With several dishes served together, the table felt plentiful. The basic side dishes suited my taste too, and I especially enjoyed the soy-marinated crab.

Did the braised hairtail seasoning go well with rice?
The hairtail and radish had absorbed the seasoning well. I picked the hairtail flesh from the bones and lightly dipped it in the sauce, or put a piece of hairtail and radish on top of rice together.

I tend to tire quickly of braised hairtail seasoning if it is too sweet or intense. Here, it tasted good with rice, so I kept reaching for it. Having the seasoned hairtail with the pot rice felt like a substantial Korean meal during the trip.

How were the sea urchin seaweed soup, abalone porridge, and grilled okdom?
The sea urchin seaweed soup felt different from the seafood stew we had before. It did not taste fishy, and it had a generous amount of sea urchin, so I enjoyed it.

I remembered enjoying the abalone porridge on our previous visit, so we ordered one as an individual dish again. This time, the three of us did not all have the same set; ordering a two-serving set with one individual dish let us try several dishes.

The grilled okdom included in the set was crisp outside and moist inside. I liked alternating between the seasoned braised hairtail and the mild grilled okdom.

What did I like about returning?
I liked that the meal included braised hairtail, grilled fish, several side dishes, and pot rice. For me, the table felt plentiful for the price, and the staff were kind. It was a good place to stop for a Korean meal while traveling around eastern Jeju with my parents.
