If you're driving through Gapyeong or playing a round of golf, this is a solid spot for lunch too.
Kodari jorim
If you're looking for somewhere to eat before or after a round at the golf courses in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong, try the kodari jorim (braised dried pollack) at Jingogip Donghae Dongtaetang & Kodari Jorim, Gapyeong Seorak branch.
The place was clean and spacious, and the side dishes and kodari jorim were so neatly prepared that it was exactly my kind of restaurant. It's the kind of place that comes to mind when you want a hearty, satisfying meal.
Where is Jingogip in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong?
Jingogip Donghae Dongtaetang & Kodari Jorim, Gapyeong Seorak branch is located on Yumyeong-ro in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong. It's a Korean restaurant serving both dongtaetang (pollack stew) and kodari jorim.

It's easy to access for anyone traveling through Gapyeong, and especially convenient for those using the golf courses in this area as a place to stop for a meal.
Since there are several golf courses in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong, a lot of people like to figure out ahead of time where to eat before or after their round.
On days when you're craving warm soup or a rice-based Korean meal rather than something heavier like meat or dak-galbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), dongtaetang or kodari jorim hits the spot.
This time I ordered the kodari jorim set.

What comes with the kodari jorim set at Jingogip
The kodari jorim set at the Gapyeong Seorak branch of Jingogip centers on kodari jorim, served alongside a whole spread of side dishes. The side dishes here really impressed me.

I always pay close attention to the side dishes whenever I visit a Korean restaurant, and here at this kodari jorim place, they were genuinely neat and delicious.

The kodari jorim itself was also thoroughly satisfying — you all know how a rich, savory sauce like this is basically a rice thief, right?

Pulling apart the kodari flesh, dabbing on a little sauce, and putting it on top of rice — it goes together perfectly.
The kodari's chewy yet clean flavor combined with the savory sauce naturally makes you reach for more rice.

How the kodari jorim sauce tastes
The sauce at Jingogip's kodari jorim wasn't overly spicy or too salty — it was well-balanced when eaten with rice. Personally, the sauce is the most important thing I look for when eating kodari jorim.
Kodari itself has a fairly clean flavor, so the type of sauce used makes a noticeably big difference in taste.
The sauce had soaked well into the flesh, so when I pulled off pieces and ate them with rice, the savory flavor really came through.
The sauce paired so well with rice that I felt it was almost a waste to have leftover sauce after finishing the kodari.
Putting kodari flesh on rice and adding a bit of sauce was my favorite combination.

The well-braised radish was also really delicious — it's the real highlight in a jorim dish. It's my favorite side, and honestly the reason I eat braised dishes.

There's also rice cake in Jingogip's kodari jorim. It went really well with everything.

The bean sprouts were crunchy too, and paired really well with the braising sauce.
The side dishes at Jingogip, one by one
One thing that surprised me during the meal was how satisfying the side dishes were.

There are restaurants where the main dish is good but the side dishes fall short — here, though, even the basic sides were clean and delicious overall.
Since kodari jorim is already a sauced dish, if the sides were too strongly flavored too, the whole meal could feel heavy.
Having sides that were nice to alternate with made it easy to go back and forth between them and the kodari jorim.
Putting kodari flesh on a spoonful of rice, then having a bite of a side dish, then mixing more rice into the kodari sauce — before I knew it, a whole bowl of rice was gone.
I'm the type who really appreciates a restaurant with good basic side dishes, and this time both the main dish and the sides delivered.
Why Jingogip works as lunch near Gapyeong golf courses
Kodari jorim has a bit of a dinner-menu image, but eating it in person, it actually works well for lunch too. It's filling with rice, but not as heavy as a meat dish, making it just right for a midday meal.
If you're looking for lunch while traveling in Gapyeong, or a hearty meal before or after a round of golf, a menu like this is actually a welcome option.
If you're visiting with a group, ordering kodari jorim and adding something like dongtaetang to share also seems like a good idea.
Since this place serves both dongtaetang and kodari jorim, it's easy to satisfy people in your group who prefer soup and those who prefer braised dishes.
And you can't overlook the location either. Seorak-myeon in Gapyeong is an area many golf travelers visit.
It's a convenient area to plan meals around nearby golf courses like Cheongpyeong Midas CC, Ananti Club Seoul, and Pristine Valley GC.
Before golfing, you want something filling but not too strongly flavored, and after a round, once you've worked up a sweat and used up energy, warm soup or rice really hits the spot. Dongtaetang or kodari jorim suits those moments well.
Especially when a group is playing golf together and eating afterward, having a choice of menu is a real advantage.
If you're looking for a good restaurant near a Gapyeong golf course, it might be worth planning your restaurant together with your route rather than looking for them separately.
Craving Korean food on a Gapyeong trip
Beyond golfers, I felt this was also a good meal spot for families or couples planning a Gapyeong trip.

When you come to Gapyeong, you tend to gravitate toward famous foods like dak-galbi or makguksu (buckwheat noodles), but sometimes it's nice to break from the same options.
Choosing a Korean rice dish like kodari jorim or dongtaetang lets you eat a filling meal even while traveling.
Especially on a family trip with older relatives, a dish like kodari jorim that pairs easily with rice makes a safe, easy choice.
The seating felt comfortable too, making it a low-pressure option for a family meal out or a gathering with several people.
Looking for a good restaurant in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong?
On this visit to Jingogip Donghae Dongtaetang & Kodari Jorim, Gapyeong Seorak branch, I had the kodari jorim set for lunch. The biggest strengths, for me, were the sauce on the kodari jorim and the side dishes.
The kodari flesh had a nice clean, chewy texture, and the sauce paired so well with rice that I enjoyed it right to the last bite. Adding in the side dishes one by one made the whole spread feel even more generous.
More than anything, its location in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong makes it a great addition to any meal plan for people combining a Gapyeong trip with a round of golf.
If you're looking for a place to eat after golfing in Gapyeong, or a filling lunch spot in Seorak-myeon, this is worth a visit. Next time I come this way for a round of golf, I think this will come to mind again as a candidate for a pre- or post-round meal.
